I want to say nothing but good for the Trails but I sadly cannot at this time. For the past several months I have been dealing with secondhand smoke coming through my vents from my neighbors. I have allergies to smoke and my bedding reeks of stale smoke. I have to turn my air conditioner off and wait hours before I can turn it back on again because the air just blows it right into my apartment. It isn't just cigarette smoke either. Pot is illegal here in Texas at the moment and it blows my mind how nothing is being done about the issue even though I have emailed and called and visited the office countless times asking them to please help me. All they have done is put flyers on everyone's door reminding them of the no-smoke policy and of course, no one pays attention to it and keeps on smoking. It is stated in black-and-white in the lease agreement that residents are not to smoke inside their apartment. My neighbors smoke inside their apartment and it is being blown up into my unit and causing me to have headaches, nausea, post nasal drip, burning sinuses and sore throat. I have purchased a $200 air purifier to help remedy the problem but it does nothing to help. The smoke that comes in is too strong. I was told by them that "sometimes it is best not to say anything" in regards to reporting my smoking neighbors. What does that mean? It is in the lease agreement that the Trails is a "non-smoking community". Non-smoking for who? Residents who are lucky enough to not have neighbors that smoke? How is that fair to other residents who move above chain smokers and potheads? How is it fair that the smoking neighbors get off ****-free while I have to suffer and watch management be sitting ducks refusing to help me?
