Please DO NOT use this company. We contracted them when our home was damaged in the winter storm. Their professionalism, work ethic, communication is absolutely TERRIBLE. They lied to us on multiple occasions. This company basically "ghosted" us for several months. A project that should have taken 2 months at best, took 9 months to complete. The built in's we added that we waited on 3 months longer than expected ended up being the wrong size and not even close to what we requested. Then it took another 4 months to get the right ones. When they installed them, they used screws that went through the sheetrock to the adjoining bedroom so we had to call our contractor back out to fix THEIR mistake in which they took NO ownership in. After being extremely patient for 9 months, we are slapped with a **** saying we owe $2,000 more dollars after we had already paid $14,452 through our contractor and Purselley's invoice was $12,100! When we explained this, it didn't matter. He put a lien on our property when we actually OVERPAID him! We should have sued. Please save yourself time, money and frustration and do not ever use this company. If I can save just one person from what we experienced, you will thank me.

Purselley Cabinets & Construction Company Response

    09/13/2022

Concerning the review from **************, this customer hired a General Contractor (not our company) to provide flood damage repair.  We were originally hired by **************, but were later told to go through their General Contractor.  We were only hired to modify and install cabinets that were damaged due to water damage.  First and foremost, this house was not ready when contract was signed as customer indicated.  We were not able to move in to even do the work at least 4 weeks from date of signing contract.    And then when we did get in there, their orignal General Contractor had removed the entire kitchen, not just some of the kitchen.  We were not involved at all in the demolition of the kitchen.  Not any cabinets were left in the kitchen.  They had been placed in the garage.  We started our work in replacing the cabinets back into kitchen that were originally not supposed to be worked on.  We found those cabinets had been damaged in the removal process by the Original Contractor, Not Our Company.  We then called the homeowner and advised them of this and how would they like to handle this.  ****************** response was, "it has to be repaired so I will pay whatever it takes to get it right".  Exact words.  I told him, "I will have to take cabinets back to my shop to do the proper repair".  His response, "that will be fine".  It took several days to to get all these cabinets from their garage to my shop.  This was not part of our original project and it did take several days to put into schedule to haul cabinets back to our shop.  It was not just a matter of saying it needs to get done and I magically make the manpower and trailers appear.  It was a large endeavor to get an entire kitchen picked up and delivered to our workshop.  Once cabinets were repaired they were installed along with the "new" cabinets, however we had multiple delays from electricians and plumbers that pushed the completion of kitchen and bathroom.  Not due to us, but by other contractors and yet we are being blamed by the homeowners of why their job was not finished faster.  Once the cabinets were installed, they had to be painted.  Which was not done by us.  During this time, we worked on the extra cabinets they had ordered.  Additionally, ************** wanted us to schedule our fabricators to install countertops.  Which took an additional 4-5 weeks for countertop selection, templates, fabrication and installation.  Now we are approximately 12 weeks into project and nothing is being held up because of our company.  This person had a bad experience from being put out of their house for longer than anyone would have wanted, but for some reason they want to put the blame on us and not pay their bill.  Nobody lied to them from my company.  When they called, we answered and told them the truth of what we knew because we were not in control of their job.  Their General Contractor was in control of their job.  And we have been informed by other contractors, they were not paid in full also.  Concerning screws going through to the bedroom, this can happen.  It was 2 screws and they knew it when it happened and Contractor was still working on drywall and touched it up.  It was not a big deal, yet it is being made to be so for some reason.  They did have some cabinets delivered out to their site that were not for their job.  Easily rectified and right ones were delivered the next week.  Not 4 months as indicated.  I do not know who they paid the last $1948.94 to, and no discussion between us about that money was had.  The last day my assistant dropped off some shelves and told ************** we left a bill there for the additions we did (which was reworking the damaged cabinets and additional other work they asked us to do that he would pay personally).  His response, "Oh you will have to get any money from the General Contractor, I have paid all I am going to pay".  And that was it.  ************** would not answer phone calls or texts.  He would not pay his bill.  Not sure why ************** would say he overpaid and they explained this.  Not to us was that discussion held.
