Home repair work contracted for freeze/water damage to my home on 03/24/2021 with ********* *******, CFO, of CB Framing/Decking. Work was to be completed in three weeks per written contract submitted to me and paid for by my home insurance company. Work was substandard and to date has not been completed. Several attempts to arrange times for Mr. ******* to complete work and make corrections to work have resulted in Mr. ******* not showing up as he promised and no further contact from him in over 30 days. Mr. ******* was paid in full for the work upon request. Many of the repairs remain incomplete and/or unsatisfactory. I have had to resort to hiring others to fix items left undone or incomplete by Mr. *******. I do not feel he represented his company and his expertise truthfully and would like a refund of monies paid him to compensate me for the added expense his failure to complete the agreed upon work resulted in.

      10/21/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2021/10/21) */ In response to **** ********* complaint. C B Framing an decking did complete all items per contract. Schedule was extended dew to carpet installers shortage. In addition to **** ********* change of paneling on interior after agreed paneling was installed. The first paneling was removed, and replaced with new paneling, installed stain and sealed. Upon closeout a punch list was created. After completing punch list a 2nd punch list was created with overlocked items. 2nd punch was completed as well. After 2nd punch list C B Framing an Decking returned to the home an did additional work to satisfy **** *********. At this time all work was finished. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2021/11/09) */ ***Document Attached*** Mr. ******* has left the following items uncomplete as of 11/9/21: Paint overspray on 2 garage windows; accoustic and paint overspray on garage storm door; threshold into kitchen has screws sticking out catching on shoes/fall risk for elderly person; storm door no longer locks; threshold in kitchen not secure, screws sticking out; stain from baseboard on new vinyl in several places, stain doesn't match existing paneling at all; paint overspray and drips on door casing in several rooms; vinyl floor in bathrooms not properly glued down and curling/coming loose; both bathroom light globes broken and not replaced; leg of dresser in guest bedroom broken; metal brick trim at front door not reinstalled after pulled off by contractor's help; paint overspray on kitchen cabinet knobs & paneling furrdown. Wainscot in entry hall not finished out. Contractor stained it, left streaks in paneling, did not put finish coat on. Wiring from garage door opener left hanging down, paint overspray on opener equipment. Paint overspray on TV equipment. Wallpaper order for entry hall was short two double rolls, owner ordered and paid for. Wallpaper hanger had to wait for additional paper thus delaying job completion. Paper hanger never paid by contractor, nor was the amount agreed upon deducted from cost of replacement wainscoting as agreed upon by paper hanger and Mr. ******* He charged homeowner full price of $750 for replacement wainscot Carpet at entry from den to hall pulled loose/not fixed. Large gap left around ceiling light fixture in garage. Missing floor trim in laundry area. Sheetrock behind washer/dryer water damaged and not replaced. There is paint & stain on the vinyl flooring in the kitchen and baths where the floor trim meets the flooring. After telling home owner he broke chandeliers in dining room, sitting room and entry hall, these items were found in boxes in garage. Home owner asked they be installed and the ones substituted removed. No apparent damage was found on the old fixtures. The old fixtures have not been replaced as requested. Mr. ******* did show up one time to fix the large gap at the threshold of the front door and hang the master bath mirror. However, he made at least two appointments to complete the punch list and did not show up. The homeowner had to hire someone to completely repaint the wainscot in the entry hall that was left incomplete. All in all, the work done by Mr. ******* and his crew was substandard and remains incomplete. The house was left with construction trash/debris in the driveway, layers of sheetrock dust not cleaned up as promised. Mr. ******* stated he wanted additional money to come back and finish the contracted job. The homeowner does not feel he deserves any additional compensation, neither does the insurance company. His work is substandard and severely lacking in quality. Attached is a copy of the letter sent to Mr. ******* regarding the items requiring his attention. Upon receipt of the letter, he called and said he would be by on an agreed upon date/time and address the items. To date, he has not returned, nor been heard from. Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2021/11/23) */ In response to the complaint, CB Framing an Decking has done everything per contract. Additional work not included in the contract has also been done to satisfy the coustmer. There has been more than one attempt to correct or redo the unsatisfied work, with no response. Consumer Response /* (4200, 19, 2021/12/01) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) In response to the letter received by Mrs. ********* on 12/01/2021, the complaints listed in the original complaint form still remain valid. Mr. ******* did stop by one morning several months ago to hang wallpaper in the hallway. The original order for the hallway paper was incorrect and additional had to be ordered and paid for by Ms. *********. We had to wait for the additional paper to be delivered. Mr. ******* looked at the hallway and left. He has not been seen or heard from since. He apparently has chosen to leave the unfinished, substandard work as is and has no intention of making any attempts to rectify the situation. The list of unfinished/partially finished work still remains. Mrs. ********* has had to have several repairs made by others that should have been completed by Mr. *******. She has paid monies out of her pocket to fix things he should have. This is most upsetting to an elderly lady on a fixed income. Mr. ******* stated he had talked to the insurance company about obtaining additional funds. Per the insurance company, no additional funds will be forthcoming. Mrs. ********* remains unsatisfied with Mr. *******'s work. As of this date, Mr. ******* has offered no resolution to Mrs. *********.
