I was referred to RC Woodshop by a reputable source, contacting him to make me a custom oak twin bedframe. In May of 2021, We talked on the phone/texted specifics on what I wanted, photos of inspiration and pricing. He told me he could have it completed by June 2021, so I paid half deposit through Venmo, just under $500. From then on, communication was very spotty on his end. June came and went, still no bed. I had to reach out to him often since he never gave me updates or photos of his process so once September came, I told him I needed the bed immediately, he agreed and told me he would deliver it on the day we agreed upon. On September 1, he came to my home to put the pieces of the bed together. It took a lot longer than I anticipated so I had to leave my home before he was finished... stupid move on my part was when I sent over the second half of the deposit while I was away (another $450). I came home later that day after he left, realized the bed was not complete at all.. missing pieces and not sealed. I asked him about this via message, he laughed and said he "forgot the parts and would come back to finish it". A few weeks later, the bed fell apart, so it left my toddler to sleep on the floor since the $1000 bed we paid for BROKE after a month of use, I showed this to Dustin and he said he would come fix it.. as well as complete the bed as promised. Months went by, he never came, and stopped answering my texts and calls. As a last ditch effort, I had my husband reach out to who he answered, promising to come every day, but never showed up and eventually stopped answering my husbands calls as well. I tried filing a dispute through Venmo but they said we have to have BBB reach out to them once I have the dispute started here instead. We are at a loss and need our $1000 back.
