      They charged me 1800$ to do a half-baked muffler repair that has a ***** chance of burning a hole in my bumper. They waited till after I paid to tell me that part, of course.The verbal agreement I had with them was that they would later charge me less money to get my muffler fully replaced, but they reneged on that part later on.

      This is totally untrue. The muffler assembly was not available until Jan/Feb2023, so we offered The Customer 2 choices   , to repair the muffler or wait until we get one from the dealer. He chose to have it repaired so he could pick up his car, with a disclaimer that it may damage his bumper but the alternative was wait months for a new part which he did not want to. The temporary muffler  repair cost  was never going to be applied to future work and We offered to explain that but he chose not to return to our Shop.

      We understand that during Covid there are part delays and we try to explain that to all of our customers for situations such as this,The muffler was simply not available within a reasonable amount of time  and the customer chose the temporary job so he could get his car back on the road and there was a cost for this work and it is not refundable.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      They're still lying. The first time I heard that the repair would burn a hole in my car was after I had paid. Moreover, they never provided me with two options- they just called me into the shop one day to tell me they had completed their half-baked repair, when I was expecting a full part replacement. They DID mention reducing the cost of a proper repair later on, but ultimately the end result was that I would be paying them roughly 2900$ for getting my muffler fixed when I had initially only expected to pay 2200$.

      I'm just the *************** who didn't think to get everything in writing, so it's my word against theirs. It's POSSIBLE that I'm just a total liar who decided to waste my time making this post. Just like it's POSSIBLE that their 5 star ****** reviewers who have only made 1 review in their entire lives aren't bots. But what's more likely?

      My 2011 Honda Civic was towed to Qualitek on November 18th after an accident. Qualitek agreed to replace the two drivers side tires and front drivers side rim along with an alignment. The quote for these services was $958.17 and was paid in full. Between Nov 22- Dec 8 (5 calls), we were told several different accounts on my car's progress On 12/8/21 , I was skeptical that my car was even at Qualitek (having never been there in person, since all of this was done over the phone) I decided to go to the shop myself. When I arrived my car had not been touched. When I asked why that was I was told my tires and rim were on back order. Even though the week before I was told they has been installed. ***** explained that "all the shops" in Austin are booked until mid January. Having already paid, I told him that time line wasn't given to me and that I might want to tow my car back home and handle this myself. He told me there would be a restocking fee to which I asked "how so, if the product was on back order", he was extremely agitated and kept stating that they were "doing this as a favor to me". It was then I decided to leave and investigate further. I called ******** **** (their supplier) and my tire and rim were in stock. So, I knew they had lied, when I returned just 2 hrs after leaving, my car now had the new tires and rim installed. When I asked ***** if the alignment would be done that day, he told me "No, I'm not doing that. Just take it and leave, I'll refund you". I had my car towed to a new shop where I was told the wrong size tires were put on. When I called Qualitek, ***** said they would not put the correct tires and that he would not talk with me, but instead a man and hung up. ***** continued to refuse to put the correct tires on. Leaving me no choice but to do it on my own. I found out via ******** **** that they ordered the tires when I showed up and had done so under the wrong car. I was told had I driven and turned going 20 mph I would have wrecked.

      We never dealt With Mrs ******* until the end of the repairs when she came in with a major attitude. The tires and wheels were approved and paid for by another person who did not disclose that the vehicle was not his, he authorized us to fix the vehicle .

      everything that was done was explained to him since he was customer who negotiated and paid from start to finish.

      How were we supposed to know it was not his car and by then the wheels and tires were ready to install , we do not run VIN numbers on small jobs  we take customers at their word and it seemed like a job we could help out with.

      The damaged tires and wheels were taken to ******** **** for them to match and install, ******** ****s were the ones to tell us the tires were discontinued and we instructed them to install comparable ones to get the car up and running .

      ******** **** did match the size, The vehicle in question  had other underlying suspension issues that we could not repair here at Qualitek Autobody and because Mrs Alavrez was giving us major  attitude that we decided it was best she take her vehicle elsewhere instead of recommending her to another shop.

      I am rejecting this response because the incorrect tires were put on my vehicle. In fact, they were a COMPLETELY different size. Which, had I driven away with my car rather than having it towed, I would have immediately gotten into a wreck as a result of Qualitek’s negligence and unacceptable “tire change.” Had a VIN number been ran, and the car make and model identified correctly, the issue would have been avoided. Qualitek failed to even follow the standard practice of correctly identifying a vehicle that they are responsible for repairing. 

      After bringing this tire size error to Qualitek’s attention, ***** refused to rectify the error and did not change the tires to the correct size. Not only did they fail to do the one simple job they had on my car, but they also managed to do it incorrectly and negligently, and refuse to change the tires for the mistake they made. They were paid for a job they failed to do. In fact, they were paid for a job that I then had to rectify myself. Essentially, the ONLY thing Qualitek did correctly was order the correct rim. That is all.
