I paid 1 Day Bath of Texas over $20,000 to do 2 bathroom remodels and flooring. The flooring was not put in correctly and was not sealed. Water has seeped under both bathroom floors and has leaked to the closet (carpet). The flooring is uneven and coming up now. I have contacted the owner many, many times. He said he would come to look and fix it but has not and is not responding to me when I contact him now.

Sorry that this is happening. Both bathrooms were finished to the customer's liking. Both bathrooms were walked through and customer approved and agreed they were finished. Vinyl plank flooring is not "sealed" as the customer is suggesting that we did incorrectly. Since this problem has began, our company has sent people to her home to investigate, fix, repair, etc no less than 5 times. The majority of responses is that the floor was not the problem but a leak was causing problems with the floor. The last communication with the customer was that they were sending a plumber to look into this and then we haven't heard back. If there is something definitive that we can do after an independent assessment, we will.

I am rejecting this response because:

The owner is lying.  They never fixed the floors that were incorrectly installed and due to that, there has been leaking since installation.  This has caused molding under both floors, the floors are cracked and coming up, and the water has leaked to the carpet in the closet by the bathroom.  Very unethical.  I have tried many times to get this corrected without contacting BBB or suing.  Not right at all.

      Regards,

We wouldn't have sent workers to your home multiple times if we weren't interested in helping. I am so sorry that you feel we are lying. Unfortunately you are just incorrect. You said, "They never fixed the floors that were incorrectly installed and due to that, there has been leaking since installation." However, the floors cannot cause a leak. That is impossible. We suggest having an independent inspection to find out what is leaking and address it. The floors are a biproduct, not the cause. We won't address any of this further, thank you and good luck.

I am rejecting this response because:

You do not tell the truth.  The floors were never glued down correctly or sealed.  The very heavy cast iron tub that you installed is the cause of the water damage and flooring issues.  The floor is bowed.  You also deleted your texts with me for the past few months, so that proves you are trying to hide things.  I can get my attorney to pull those back up, just so you know ****  Karma is real and God and your father knows the truth and it will catch up with you.  I pray for all the poor people that are having issues due to your faulty work.

      Regards,

We received a scope of work from 1 day bath of Texas around June 26th, 2021. The idea was that they would do the following as part of a home remodel:Total cost was quoted and agreed upon at $xxx,000 to be paid in 4 equal payments as areas were completed with the first payment made at contract signing. The items to be completed were:Kitchen,Sun Room,Addition,Master Bath,Guest Bath,Half Bath,Floors. The Total: $xxx,000.We have paid $xxx,750 in 3 out of the 4 equal payments as agreed upon. The remaining balance of $xx,250 was to be paid upon completion of the sunroom and second floor bathroom addition which would include the tearing down of the window in the kitchen to allow for a slimmer sliding door to sunroom, closing the door and the window by the dining room. The sunroom was never completed and the additional room upstairs was never completed. In addition, there were several items that we reported which need to be adjusted and fixed:- The cabinet doors for the kitchen (tall one and the place where microwave was originally supposed to go)- Shelving for bottom, corner kitchen cabinet - Main bathroom shower glass door has a gap (when they repaired the bottom loose seal they left a gap so door now doesn't close and water escapes to the floor)- The dishwasher sliding out and not being even was resolved by inserting two dense rubber strips that come out when using the dishwasher frequently so it requires a more permanent solution. The owner has completely stopped responding. He will not return phone calls, text messages or acknowledge emails. We have records of all the attempted communication with no response. We would like to be out of the contract officially, with a refund of $xx.250 + what it costs to hire someone to fix they items above that 1 day bath didn't fix. Finally, 1 day bath said they would also handle a roof replacement (which is coming up on our 1 year deadline), and they haven't done anything on it.

You've hired our workers to do side work for you, you've been unhappy with both of our project managers with a slew of complaints. However, from your words, the completed work and large extensive remodel has been amazing so far. We have completed the work we contracted for in sections and been paid in sections. We have been back multiple times for warranty items and still plan on visiting again when we have the labor available. The final tranche of this project is quite intricate and the permitting process is also tedious. We have to make sure we have the right crew available with licenses to complete the work properly, and we've informed you of this. Now that we've waited months for you to acquire your plans and drawings, you're impatient with our availability. This agreement is no longer a fit for our company. You're welcome to find another contractor and we'll allow you to dissolve the remainder of the contract without fees.
