      Zero stars.Purchased a monthly book subscription for my child.Returned the books at *** that I did not want from the subscription box per Literati protocol. The books I did not want were sent back to me.They proceeded to charge my card different amounts multiple times within multiple days.They stated a mess up with the return label that they sent me caused the books to return to me. At this point Im confused why they would think its ok to proceed to charge me for the unwanted books. Their response is to probe about buying from them again. At this point, naturally Im feeling nervous about this online business, Im not sure if they are even a real company or scamming me of my time and money and who know what else. I had to pay $17 to send the books back because a return label was not supplied to me. After I told them I had to spend $17 for a label to return the returned box at **** for a second time, they told me a label was supplied either with the returned box or by email. The same label that did not work the first time. They are not helpful at fulfilling complaints as they **** out the email responses in short answers that they knew would have another question on my end -instead of resolving a situation in an appropriate quick professional manner like you expect from any real online business. They would respond when its time for the customer service to close. One email ending Have a good weekend. -Theres no customer service on the weekend. Knowing I would still need help. Its been over a week now trying to resolve.Now they are telling me I have a $17 credit on the account.My options:Continue a subscription with them or spend $50-75 on a single box. 1) Why would I want to subscribe again?2) Why would I want to spend that much?How does this equate resolving the situation? Help me Reading the same complaints on this BBB website about this company is upsetting bc they get to continue doing this to people and nothing is being done about it.

      When I first signed up, I thought the monthly charge was for the books itself. It wasn't but kept it thinking ok, a $15-25 box of books isn't too bad. Then I learned that the box of books itself wasn't the price range you chose, but rather a box full of books ranging from $10-$20 each that you get charged for whichever ones you don't send back, leading me to spend about $60+ a month on them. So I went to cancel... but you can't just cancel. You have to talk to somebody. And nobody ever says anything! After a long wait I said if yall don't get on here and cancel I'm going through my bank and the BBB, I was shown someone was typing, and then they ended the chat, still without canceling.

      Would give 0 stars if I could. Another predatory company making you wait in chat and asking questions instead of cancelling your subscription when asked over a dozen times. STAY AWAY.

      Terrible company. They signed a contract with our school for a book fair and then months later decided they were cancelling because they changed how big the school had to be. Wish I would have checked the reviews before trusting them to provide a book fair for our kids.

      We enjoyed it for a few years, but once my child reached the age of 13 they started sending books with swear words and questionable content such as topics on homosexuality.

      I mistakenly purchased a subscription and when I called to cancel the order, they insisted a stay subscribed. Then they stated the order was canceled but, stated the package would still arrive because they have no control over the orders. Makes absolutely no sense. They supposedly cancel the order but still have it sent? Looks like they are pushing to get money out of people. People seem to also be complaining for years that there is still no cancel option online. Thats also fishy. I believe this company continues to try and scam people and needs to be investigated and shut down. Why are they still running the company? What is BBB doing to stop this and do you guys even have the ability to do so?

      I loved Literatis book club for adultsuntil it folded and my money for the remaining subscription was not refunded. I was offered books from an alternate site, which I thought was a reasonable refund. I spent my unused credits, choosing from the selection offered. I never received the books nor a refund.

      This company is a SCAM!!! I cancelled my subscription and they still manage to take money from my account. I cancelled online and with one if their rep and they still took it out. Theyre FRAUDS!!!!!

      I signed up for this book club for 3 grandkids not realizing that if the parents weren't sending them back, I would be charged $50+ for each order. Because of the ages of the kids and the parent's busy lives, this wouldn't work. I cancelled after the first month in July, 2022. Despite this, books were still sent for August, September, and October for one of the children. Each time, I contacted Literati and they apologized and assured me that it would not happen again. I would get the $10 back but any books not returned I would have to cover the cost. Despite asking my offspring for this, a book was lost, it didn't happen, whatever. Now remember, I didn't order these. I was told I could cancel at any time. I have contacted my credit card company and blocked them from being able to continue to charge my card. This has been such an annoyance dealing with them and I'm hoping its all over.

      I was attempting to cancel bc of a move overseas and they wouldn't allow it unless I chatted or spoke with a representative. Then, while speaking with a representative they wouldn't cancel until I gave them a valid reason. Not that it is their business. I gave them a reason. Third, they asked me instead of cancelling, would I like to forward my subscription to another child that doesn't have a subscription. I should be able to cancel simply because I want to without this issue. I had considered subscribing again once my grandson was settled overseas, but certainly not after this experience.
