Please noteIf youre reading this theyve not yet used their resources to take it down. More than anything, take care of you and question everything with this business. This business is allowing scams to flourish. Im a nanny, and a paid member of Great Aupairs for a few months.Quite quickly I was contacted by a family overseas that wasnt a family at all, but a scam to get my personal info in order to travel to them. When I reached out to the Great Aupairs and alerted them to this, they removed the post, but it was quickly put back up. And I was contacted by this same scam (same profile) several more times. At first I thought the Great Aupair was being scammed too, but then I started getting other families that were looking for a nanny with wife dutiesof a sexual nature was alluded to, also overseas. Whatever is going on, its clear this company is ONLY interested in money, not in the safety of the caregivers that sign up with them.Do not sign up with them, they are not who they say they are.

      01/02/2024

I sent the following email to the complainant:
      Dear *****,
I received an email from BBB today alerting me to your dissatisfaction with using GreatAuPair.com.

We certainly understand your frustration and your concerns about scammers. We do everything we can to protect our members from scammers, yet it is a battle that we continue to fight each day. In actuality, less than 1% of the families who register on the site are scammers, and we generally find and remove them within a few hours of registration. In most cases, it is the same individual scammer who is creating multiple accounts to try to escape our screening and eventual removal.

GreatAuPair.com uses a private, internal messaging system, to protect your privacy and protect against internet scammers, so no family can ever see your email address or contact you at your personal email account. However, if you bypass this protective internal messaging system, by sending a personal email outside of the messaging system, then the scammer has your email address, and operates outside the safety and screening that GreatAuPair provides. We have no way of protecting you from internet scammers, if you are sending emails outside the GreatAuPair messaging system.

We are doing everything we can to prevent scammer activity. The majority of these scammers are identified within hours (sometimes minutes) of signing up and are immediately blocked from the site. Our developers have implemented a number of automated systems to identify and remove scammers from the site. When we learn of scammers using our website, we block their IP addresses, accounts, email addresses, and credit cards. We have a 30-point anti-fraud system that is designed to identify and remove potential scammers automatically.

There are individuals on a daily basis reviewing every profile for potential scammer flags to protect you and the rest of our members. We do our best, but sometimes the scammers do get through our screening processes.

We feel one of the best defenses against scammers is education which is why we proactively send out important security notices via email to all of our members explaining what to look out for and how to protect yourself against scammers. We also post warnings on GreatAupair.com about the scammers as a way to inform and protect our members. You can read more at our Security Center.

Although you feel that we do not care about the safety of our customers, actually the exact opposite is true. We do everything possible to protect the safety of our customers.

We immediately deleted your account upon your request on the morning of November 18, 2023, after receiving your email request on the evening of November 17th. I did not see any other requests from you in previous email communications with GreatAuPair.

I have credited your $45 membership payment since you were dissatisfied with your experience.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can do to assist you.

      Sincerely,
      *********************

      EVP / GreatAuPair

*I have attached a copy of the email sent and the proof of refund.
