We have been going to this clinic for close to a year without results due to possible faulty placement of brackets. There were 4 (2 on top and 2 on bottom) placed on my daughter's teeth. Theses were to attach top to bottom with a bottom retainer to correct my daughter's overbite. The brackets have not stayed attached longer the 3 days for actual treatment. The first bracket to fall off was an actual break of the rod itself while **** was eating popcorn. After that, we had a series of (approximately 7) detachments with simple foods: birthday cake, cookie dough, and lastly while she was speaking the same day the last bracket was reattached. At the appt in Dec 2023, a technician was attempting to adjust the size of the rubber band hook and she accidently took off the bracket herself and had to replace it.I had been speaking with ************************ (ortho operations manager) about my frustration of these occurrences. She prompted me that there might come ************** just toward braces. After the last bracket came off, I called the dental office and spoke to ************************ again. At this time, I questioned why would we move to braces if this pre-procedure was "needed". If we can just do that then why wouldn't that be the place to start. She counteracted and said they were "needed". I do not understand why I would be offered to move on to another stage in the progression if the first pre-braces step was "needed".On 28 Dec, I met with *********, ******************, and his technician stating that I want to find another ortho place as this just was not working and that my trust is gone. We all agreed, however, in this conversation there was an underlying implication from ********* that "this never happens"-I took this as we have been non-compliant, however, this is just not true. We very rarely eat meat outside of cooked or raw salmon. She also stated "well, we have not been charging you for the reapplications". I counteracted, "you shouldn't be, all we have gotten in this process is teeth jewelry" in which the ************** his head yes. She then went on to state that she will have to get with billing for a prorated transfer of monies to our new office. I do not want to pay for anything as we literally could not move forward or gain any effect from this treatment. They can have all of their hardware back, I have no issues with giving them back. This morning, 1 Feb, we had to go to ******** Dental to have my daughter's 2 remaining brackets removed before we can move forward to another orthodontist. I was then told by Ms. ********* that we owe "$39" still. In speaking with her, she basically told me that the payments I have already made ($3,091.54) would cover the appointments I had to have to affix the failing brackets. I asked her "why, we did not receive treatment, we literally got no dental benefit" from these services as we never completed this portion of the treatment. She stated "but, you got to see the Doctor". Interestingly, this is almost half of the total for the pre braces and braces process. The "braces" only were to cost me $5,300.In this, I am not waging a complaint against the care received by the Dr. or Technicians themselves. They were professional and kind. I do not understsand why the brackets did not hold, however, I should not have to pay for faulty work. I wish it would have worked out. I also understand work was done, however, with no actual dental value. We are seeking to go to another orthodontist. Unfortunately, this means starting this whole process again. With that, I need the money to do so.
