On 1/25, I dropped off a winter camel wool coat for dry cleaning and pointed out some dirt on the bottom of the garment required cleaning. Upon pick up the next day, I took a second beige wool coat for cleaning to drop this second one off and pick up the first. But then, I noticed the dirt **** was worse on the first garment and I realized that they had not noticed the dirt ****s or paid attention to my explanation on the first drop off. The receptionist said it will be ready on 29th along with the second garment. On my return for picking my coats up on Monday 1/29, receptionist ****** my first coat and accidentally dropped in on the floor, she then informed me that the second coat needs more work and the cleaner is still working on it. she then apologized for dropping the first coat and said, she will have both coats ready the next day. I returned to the cleaners on 2/1 to pick up my coats to see that my second coat is completely ruined, it was shrunken completely and had some more localized shrunken area and the wool was brushed and completely out of shape. this was almost a brand new coat which I had not used much. To my disappointment, she said she will talk to the owner and write me a check for the damage. She refused to give me my camel coat as a courtesy even though she was keeping the beige coat. I left and she called me in the afternoon to say the owner said we will try to fix it and then on 2/2 another call that they fixed it. I returned to the cleaner on 2/8 to pick up the coat to realize the coat is not in its original condition and they refuse to accept their mistake. at this point they not only wouldn't pay me for my lose but also asking me to pay them for the cleaning which is extremely inappropriate. They even called 911 to force me to pay for what is my loss. I am in desperate need for my winter coat and they have been holding them for over 2 weeks. Please assist with the matter.
