I had to cancel my reservation because of inclement weather and was charge %50. Be careful when renting from them.

Customers are provided the cancelation policy before reserving the vehicle. When creating a booking, they signify they've read, understood, and agree to this policy. The customer was assessed a cancelation fee at the time of cancelation.

While we are not able to offer a full refund, we have added the cancelation fee ($361.04) as a credit to his account, to be put toward a future ride if desired.

Horrible customer service, dealing with a claim incident. I contacted the agent in charge and tried to get information on why they where replacing a scratch part and other things. Tried explaining to him that I could not see said damage on public photos. Just told me that I had to pay for it and that was it.

      Riders Share Response

The customer rented a motorcycle through us, and agreed to our Terms of Service, which state the following:

"You are responsible for any and all damages incurred during the rental period and return of the vehicle according to your Reservation Agreement in a timely manner, in the condition in which it was rented."

We require photo documentation of the vehicle before and after a reservation. Check in photos do not show any damage to the bike, but check out photos clearly show scratches to the engine guard. At the time of the settlement, we informed the customer re-painting the damaged part would be less cost effective than a full replacement.

The engine guard was replaced, and the customer was held responsible for the $500 deductible carried with their coverage. Riders Share covered remaining costs. While we understand this customer's frustration, and are disappointed he feels otherwise, we did communicate clearly with them regarding our claim process and settlement.

I rented a Kawasaki 650 Vulcan in *****************) ** from November 30-Dec 5 2023.I had no issues with the bike itself. It ran fine, although it was totally naked, no bags or windshield, a bit tough riding on the highway. The issue I had was with the pricing structure, which I would describe in one word: deceptive.Presenting itself as a benevolent association bringing bike owners and renters together, they display a map of the city with little circles showing daily rental rates and locations. I clicked on this one showing $30/day.This is the last time i ever saw this rate. When I went to rent the bike it was suddenly $55/day with "discounts" bringing the rate down to about $41/day.Taking the next step, a $68 "service charge" showed up. Then a Collision Deductible Waiver menu came up, with no opportunity to use a high end credit card to cover this. Luckily my credit card was able to cover a $2000 deposit so i could get the minimum CDW at $15/day. Others with less money would be forced to pay $20 or $25/day. I have no doubt this money has absolutely nothing to do with insurance and goes straight into someone's pocket. In the end the 5 day rental was almost $350, or $70/day, well over twice the original stated rate. My question is, why not just include all these charges that everyone has to pay anyway instead of luring people with a low daily rate and then piling on all these other charges? The checkin/out procedure was seamless and I do like the concept. They just need to be more honest with actual costs to the rider.*********************** **************** ****** 50+ years riding

      Hey ****,

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your ride, and hope you feel your riding experience was worth the expense!

To clarify, when looking at our marketplace, if you have no dates entered, it will show you rates for a 5-day trip. Due to multi-day discounts, 5-day trips often have a lower rate. If you were to narrow down the dates after searching, the prices adjust accordingly. The cost of our Damage Waivers directly pays for losses accrued by renters throughout the year. Our service fee helps cover the cost of doing business online, such as payment processing, cybersecurity, etc.

Please reach out to us at ********************************************************* if you would like to discuss this matter further. We want to ensure you are pleased with our service, or at minimum, consider ways to improve!

We greatly appreciate your patronage and feedback.

      Sincerely,

      ****************

As a renter, they ****. I rented my motorcycle for only the 2nd time and it came back damaged. There was no preexisting damage to my motorcycle. It was ************** and free of blemishes. The renter took it off-road and laid it down at speed. I filed a claim with pictures. Pictures were taken just before and right after it was rented. Riders Share could clearly see what was damaged. They wrote up the estimate only using the photos and came back with what they declared their financial liability was and excluded the panniers and engine guards saying they are a wear item and are not part of the damage claimed. Overall, their estimate was around $1500 short of what it cost to restore the motorcycle to its original condition. Their estimate was way off on the labor cost and parts cost. I'm not sure where or how they came up with their amount.Because the estimate did not cover all the costs from the repair shop, I submitted a supplement from the repair shop to the claims representative and they still chose not to cover the difference. They did not take care of it.Also, all communications were done by email. I requested a phone call and was told their policy didn't permit phone calls. I couldn't debate or contend their estimate. It was final.I will not be renting my bike out again. It's unfortunate because the first time I rented it out, it was a very positive experience. If you rent your bike out through this app. Be aware that if something we're to happen to your motorcycle, and you need to file a claim. You are at their mercy, and you will not be happy.Tough life ****** learned. Riders Share is no good.

      ****,

We are sorry to hear your of your frustration with this claim. We do perform adjustments remotely, using the evidence supplied by the owner and renter/rider. The check ***************** submitted by each party are reviewed in order to prevent the customer being held responsible for pre-existing damages.

In order to keep a written record, communications regarding claims are done through electronic mail, as disclosed in our terms agreement. We are a small team and this process allows us to operate most efficiently.

Your claim representative has requested further documentation. We hope to reach a settlement which aligns with our terms agreement and satisfies both parties.

Beware. Rented an adventure bike ****** 650L), and was stoked about the site and process. Rent a bike from a private party for a good deal - win-win. Bike ran like c*** but good enough to get through my 3-day trip. A rear fender baggage rack breaks 5-miles into my trip (a bolt broke that fastened the rack to the fender) while we are still on the street (after trailering the bike out of town). We stop by a store, pick up some hardware and spend some time fixing it to get it ride-ready. When we return, I have to pay for the rack and the labor to fix it. Beware - you are responsible for anything that goes wrong with the bike while you have it. If the owner doesn't put oil in the engine and it blows while you have it - you are buying the guy a new engine. *********** - "the fact is that it was damaged during your trip and you agreed to be responsible for damages the occurred while you had the bike in your possession. " It's not worth it.

This renter was held responsible for a baggage rack which was broken during his ride, per our reservation agreement. We do not hold customers responsible for mechanical failures as suggested above.

On vacation wanted to rent a bike. Tried RS for the first time and wasn't impressed. The first bike I had reserved the owner messaged me less than a week before the pickup date saying something was wrong with the bike. I reserved another bike only to be canceled again by the owner for "mechanical" reasons. I tried to rent from two other owners but they never responded back after initially putting in a request. It seems RS doesn't have a good system to vet the owners and their motorcycles looking to rent their bikes out.My advice to you is don't use this service if your vacation depends on getting the rental. Go to a dealer near the area where you're going that rents bikes out and rent from them.

We are so sorry to hear you experienced so many cancellations! This is certainly not typical and we understand your frustration! It looks like you were able to book and complete a reservation with us in July 2023. We hope you had an excellent experience, and we will add a credit to your account in the event you choose to ride with us again! Sincerely, Riders Share MGMT

Set up an account rented a bike for 3 days, drop off at 2pm. ****** wanted to drop off early at 11am I agreed. Renter never came to my house at 11am & canceled the trip. RiderShare took my money and deleted my account. They claimed they deleted it because one of my number on my phone number was off. So they take my money, delete my account all on a ride that technically wasnt supposed to happen until 2pm which I signed for. They claimed the reason we canceled it because the number was off by one digit. I then asked who is we then he corrected himself and said the renter. That was very fishy. I had to cancel my card and tell my bank it was fraud. I then called customer service back and they restored the account and said they will see if they can contact the renter to see if he still wants to rent. After all this no thanks, ** getting cancel d and charged for a trip that isnt even supposed to happen yet. Now as I type its still over an hour before the renter is supposed to drop bike off. Crazy so scammy.

We are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience experienced by this cancelation! The incorrect entry of data ultimately resulted in a fraud concern. We did offer a refund for the canceled reservation at the time.

I've been renting my personal motorcycles with Riders Share for a few years now and have one to two dozen successful rentals on my account. I've used both platforms (the other one being that "twisted" one) and Riders Share platform is technologically superior by far. Most of the people who rent bikes on this site have far more experience riding than I do and there's no need to worry about them. Some renters are newer, and a couple dropped my bike. Riders Share covered the minor damage by paying for the damaged parts. I opted not to get a repair shop involved and just sent photos. Overall I have found that the Riders Share renters are older on average than the other site, and they have more experience. Fees are also higher on Riders Share comparatively. I live in an area where people ride only seasonally. I rent during summer months and that's it. They take a cut, yes, as they should. I'm not running a business and I'm not trying to earn a huge profit. I use to proceeds to keep up on maintenance for the handful of bikes that I own. I do not see it as a major profit center, renting out my bikes. If you want a to earn a lot from rentals you should select the option for getting your own commercial insurance policy and live in an area where you can ride year-round.

I have been renting my motorcycle for two years through the service when it first started these people only took 18% last year. They started 25% this year they want 30% now they are charging me 30% and theyre charging the customer thats renting the bike Hundreds of dollars as well insurance added its just some money making machine. When is enough enough. This is just another one of them corporate companies that are taking advantage of the workingman and or woman and its not fair. When I started with this Ryders-share they were Ryders helping Ryders now its Ryders paying the bill for Ryders-share , I quit today because I do not believe that this company is worth my motorcycle for them to make hundreds and hundreds of dollars on one rental

**********************, we are very sorry to have lost you as a host on our platform, but more so, we are disappointed to hear you are feeling taken advantage of. When you began listing with us in December of 2021, the commission rate Riders Share collected was 25%. In August of 2022, we increased our commission rate to 30% - those who qualify as Power Owners still receive a lowered rate of 25%. All users were notified via email one month ahead of the change. Commission rates are applied to the daily price a host offers their vehicle at, and we offer a tool to calculate earnings after commission when setting the price. Vehicle coverage, access to the Riders Share site, customer support, payment processing, marketing, and more are all included within the commission rate Riders Share assesses. As to the fees applied to renters, we do use risk-based coverage pricing, which is intended to prevent riders with a poor driving record from renting your vehicle. Low-risk users are offered more cost-effective rates, which encourage them to rent. Deductibles for renters can be as low as $100. We offer a first ride discount of 20% to first time renters - this discount is deducted from Riders Share earnings, not the hosts'. The remaining 10% of our commission goes to payment processing fees. We hope this explanation helps demonstrate our goal to make motorcycling more accessible. Any profit made by Riders Share is promptly re-invested into the community we have built. We are disappointed to part ways with a host on bad terms, especially when there seems to be a mis-understanding about our intent and operating procedures. Regardless, we appreciate the time you did spend as a host on our platform, and we wish you safe and enjoyable riding from now on! Sincerely, Riders Share MGMT

I wish I could attach email conversation here but I could not be more unsatisfied with my experience with riders share. I rented my motorcycle out through RS. I owned since brand new and I performed all maintenance by the book as I am a ASE certified tech and have owned and worked on bikes for over 8 years. The renter wanted the bike for 30 days and I made sure I opted for premium insurance on the bike just to be stress free, Pictures of the bike were taken before and after the rental and I did everything by the book. However, when the bike was returned, I found it unsafe to ride due to chain rust and rear tire showing wires. Mind you, the renter used the bike for <500 miles. ** way could this be normal wear and tear which is what RS claimed it to be. I informed RS that I maintain my own bike and do not have receipts for work. I do religiously document my work on the maintenance log and can have receipts for parts bought. I offered to tow the bike to a reputable shop of their choice for a second opinion. After jumping through hoops and talking to multiple RS representatives, my claim was approved for the chain and rear tire wear. The repair estimate was provided and money was dispersed and I ordered parts to repair my bike and get it back on the road. However, two days after the repair money was sent, RS representative supposedly stopped the payment. RS representative now wanted my proof of ownership for the bike and tire replacement documentation. They canceled all claims without giving me time to provide additional documents as I was on a camping trip. They are now asking for my SS for tax purposes.I have everything I need to prove my case and currently working with a lawyer. Just wanted to inform others of RS practices. I paid $~600 for premium insurance for 30 days and it did nothing for me.
