I hired *********************** for a project to add a bathroom and closet to my modest 1000sq ft east side cottage in October 2022. The project was estimated to take four months for a budget of $140k. Instead, the project took over a year and was $60k over budget.Some of this was due to unforeseen circumstances (like unexpected electrical rewiring to fix existing issues). Most of this, however, was due to **** being unresponsive to both myself as the homeowner and his contractors who told me time and time again that they were unable to reach **** for time-sensitive decisions and instructions. Additionally, when his team made mistakes (which they did frequently due to a lack of supervision or the wrong plans on set or a litany of other reasons), **** charged me for the time and materials required to redo the work.Not only was the project poorly managed and way over budget and timeline, the quality of the work is so poor that I am still dealing with broken plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues that continue to cost me thousands of dollars to repair. All the faucets leak. The doors don't close properly. The floor is so unlevel (despite being an addition) that furniture doesn't fit properly. The **** vent in my son's room was covered up so there's no airflow coming into the bedroom.After a plumbing emergencyduring which raw sewage came up through the shower because his team had left the test plug in, **** was nowhere to be found. He didn't respond to calls, emails, texts, or messages, and I ended up being on the hook for nearly $3k plumbing bill to repair his mistake. I have documentation dating back to the beginning of the project that demonstrates ****'s negligence as a General Contractor, as well as the documentation from all of the professionals I've had to contract since we terminated the relationship that are willing to go on record to describe the egregious mistakes and lack of craftsmanship in everything from the framing to the plumbing to the finish out.
