We have been dealing with roof water leak since we purchased new home. We submitted a claim within the warranty period for repairs. Roofing company sent out a crew to inspect but failed to correct issue. Continue to call and submitted claims as water continued to show in the interior. Roofing company sent their crew two and three times but only to pretend to have fixed it. Recently, I hired 3rd party roof contractor to evaluate the issue and damages. Contractor agreed the issue is coming from the roof assembly and design. Findings from the 3rd party roofer includes, roofing company failed to install required metal flashing, roof slope for drainage, and install water proofing membrane in the area of penetration. Other proof includes photos of these findings and video of performed roof water test confirms the water leak is coming from the roof.Contacted the original roofing company by email to adress the issue and find a resolution. I have sent photos of our findings. Roofing company is not responding to emails.

      Mr. ******* -

We are sorry to hear that you have had water intrusion issues on the exterior of your home. As you are aware, we have responded many times, at no charge, to your request for the potential roof leak. Our company water tested the area and were not able to recreate the problem when testing the roof. Upon further testing we did notify you that water was able to enter when spraying the exterior beneath our flashings. A stucco system that is operating as intended should not let moisture travel to the sheathing of your home. Please feel free to reach out to us if you need further assistance.

I am rejecting this response because: The original claim was never resolved and water continue to enter at the roof line because of failure to installed required kickout roof flashing and failure to built a watertight condition at roof-to-wall connection. In the attached document you will find the a report of the inspection of a 3rd party roofing and stucco contractor. Exterior finish was removed down to the substrate at the roof level showing where water was going around the roof step flashing. Water accumulates against the vertical wall and pools due to not have provided slope to drain to the sides. Roofing caulking was added at both ends of this "valley" by your crew and created a dam condition. The interiors were also opened up and wall was uncovered down to the exterior sheathing. It was observed that no waterproof layer was installed at the roof step flashing, the point of water intrusion. This results in water to easily come in contact with the exterior sheathing once water collected outside against the wall and goes around the flashing.

      Antonio *******

This company installed gutters improperly causing leaks in my home and the wood to rot on my roof. I seek full repair immediately for all damage caused due to not installing gutters properly

We were called back in January of 2024 about a possible roof leak.  We investigated and identified a possible leak under solar panels that had been installed at some point after the roof was installed. Homeowner wanted this covered under the roofing warranty, however this was roofed back in 2016 and was out of warranty. The warranty was also voided once the solar company installed solar panels into the roof.

Homeowner called us last Friday to come out and give a quote for repairs and this had not been scheduled yet due to scheduling conflicts.  We left a voice mail this morning and are trying to schedule an appointment. This complaint is the first we are hearing about any gutter issues.  We can inspect that as well.

The company installed gutters and after getting several quotes I was informed the gutters were not installed properly causing water to come through the roof and into the wood causing water damage and leaks into the home

In 2019, My husband and I purchased a newly constructed home(*************), **, **. I have been having issues with the roof, (Shingles falling off and small leaks coming from attic into interior rooms) which is suppose to be under warranty, per owner manual). I contacted the builder(***************, Construction Manager; *************************, Assistant Construction Manager, ******************************* Construction Manager)who at that time was *********************** Homes(2019-2020) for issues on their products! I got so tired of emailing & calling the warranty people about who to contact about the roof. I had to figure it out myself and found out that Kidd Roofing did the original 2019 construction on the roof. I contacted them at ************ spoke with ******** who set up an appointment to have a building/roof inspector to come out on Friday, June 7th 2024 in which he did. I need repairs on the shingles, repairs on the small leaks including the vent in the attic since the leakage is coming into the interior of the home. When the Inspector showed up, he told us he would get back with my husband, gave us his business card, told us he needs to talk to manager, make some phone calls, and issue a work order. Never got back. Called twice only to get voicemail and the run around. All we are asking is for shingles replaced, leaks fixed, attic vent fixed so it wont leak inside the attic into the interior rooms, and gutters put on since the water goes inside the garage. I dont know why its so hard to do that! Tell us the truth! Thanks

We cant speak to any of the issues the homeowner has had with their homebuilders warranty department and any lack of communication. This is between the homeowner and their homebuilders warranty department. Regarding the roof, Kidd Roofing was first notified by the homeowner in April of 2023 that they had a leak.  Since we roofed this house in 2019, our one-year workmanship warranty had expired.  We let the homeowner know that any repairs would not be covered under warranty.  The homeowner mentioned they would call their insurance company and there was no further communication from the homeowner.

We were contacted again last week by the homeowner about missing shingles.  Leaks were not mentioned on the initial appointment call last week.  Our inspector, ***************************** went out on June 7th and discovered there were 5 wind-blown shingles at the bottom of the roof valley probably caused by one of the recent storms with high winds.  He gave the homeowner a bid to replace the wind-blown shingles. The homeowner got very upset that this wouldnt be covered under our expired workmanship warranty.  Regarding the leak, we can send someone to investigate and determine any issues.

I am rejecting the response to your complaint!

First of all we never mentioned we would call the insurance company in no way! You must have mixed up that response with another client! Secondly, the shingles were not five(5), it was more than that! Thirdly,
an email was sent to ***************************** for warranty information in which they never responded! Come to find out after going through our booklet the warranty for the building structure is with Strucsure Home Warranty! We will get with that company! Finally, ******************** DID NOT provide us with a bid or with any answers just the run around! I guess he doesn't take his calls or job seriously! As for the leaks no one has been by our home for help! Thank You!

Our notes from a year ago indicate that you were going to call your insurance company.  We cannot speak to ***************************** not responding when you called them, so you should take that up with them.  We don't understand why you keep bringing that up in this complaint. If you are having other issues with your home, you should contact your warranty company.  ******************** told you verbally when he was on site how much the shingle repair would be since the roof was out of warranty.  You got very upset with him that we were going to charge you for something not under warranty, so he left your home.  If you would like us to send someone to inspect for leaks, please let us know. We can have our office reach out to you to schedule a time.

You are comfusing us with another client or someone else! I never called you in the past, this is the first time calling you for help! I was told that a $200 dollar fee/charge would be needed in order for an inspector to come over! I never complained about that! If I did, you would have never given me the appointment or showed up in the first place!  As for *****************************,they never responded to my email for help either, come to find out strucsure home warranty is the people I need to contact for the warranty but you are the original roof builders(Kidd Roofing). This home was built in 2019 by *********************** Homes and Kidd Roofing was the roofer! Thank You for confusing us with another client!
