On 4/26/24 my car was towed from the apartment complex Gables at the *******. I left my vehicle outside of my girlfriends apartment to run up and grab her dog. I came down 15 minutes later and the towing company (Space Makers Towing) had taken my vehicle. Not giving me the chance to register the car. When I called them to pick it up, they told me to bring exactly $241.89, so I brought $242 exactly. As I was speaking with the lady and providing all my documents, the time went to 11:00am at which point the cost increased to $259.00. They did not tell me there was an increase in cost at a particular time (I've not had my car towed before). Anyways paid it and went on my way. Three days later, I was trying to register my car but the app to do so was not working and I could not get ahold of the apartment complex (after business hours). I called the same towing company and tried to explain the situation, hoping they'd understand and not tow my car. Instead the guy said there was nothing he could do and hung up. After calling him back he threatened to have my car towed, saying "If I knew your car information" I'd have them tow it. Anyways, I've contacted the apartment complex and let them be aware of the situation. Filling this complaint because I'm hoping the owner of the towing company is made aware of how his company is run by his employees.

I was legally parked and registered for parking since 8:45 PM On May 31, 2024. Wake up June 1 to My Car being towed at around 6 AM. Go look at the visitor parking information and there is no information on who to call for the towing, Except for the exit and entrance of the apartment complex. So I had to walk five minutes, trying to find a sign with information of the towing company. Once I find the sign, it gives the towing companies name and number, however, when you put the name into ****** or Apple Maps, nothing pops up. So now I cannot even find the address for the place that my car was towed to. I have been towed in the past, however, under a different company name but the same apartment complex. I look up the company name space makers towing and under their storage options I find an adress that fits same number of the towing company. After calling and confirming space makers has my vehicle I drive to pick it up, however no sign for their business, I ask the girl at the counter when my car was taken and she says 9:14pm I have screenshot of my car being registered starting 8:45 PM. And I even went to the apartment complex head quarters and they showed me pictures of my vehicle from the towing company itself confirming them taking my car at 8:59 -9:03 PM. The towing lot also said they dont do complaints so naturally I want to speak to headquarters which is ************************************************************************** and this address gives you a strip center of various food places shops and movie theater and a *** store but nothing for towing or any other business similar. So now I have no way in contacting the owner of the company about my issue to get a refund. I would like to know the email address or some piece of contact information of the true owner that is in charge of this space makers towing because I cant find a legitimate head figure or answers to get a re fund.

I was illegally towed from onion Creek apartments From the visitors parking. The sign had been vandalized, and there was no legible information to tell me to register for visitor parking. I assumed it was a visitor parking that I was able to park at They towed my rental car and charged me $234 and some change I paid 235. I have photographic proof that the sign was not legible and had no useful information on it. I was told by the tow company that it was a valid tow after I contested it. I believe I was ripped off for $235 and I will be seeking legal action if they do not make this right soon.

On December 31, for the second time my car was stolen by SpaceMaker Towing. They towed to their lot and told us we would owe for towing and storage because it was towed due to no sticker. Both times the stickes was on the car the towing company released the car after much dispute and having the Apartment Complex reach out as well. The car was kept for more than a day and there was no phone to contact the towing company when we contacted the storage facility and asked for a manager they were rude and said we would not be able to speak to anyone else.. just needed to pay the fines and pick up the car. Need to know how they are allowed to tow without any reason.

My car was parked at a friend's apartment when at 10:00 PM last night. When we got back to the apartment, she signed my vehicle in on the visitor's website and registered the car in. She received confirmation cleared and when I woke up this am to go to work at 4:30 am the vehicle was gone. We have made sure to check in every single time because she has seen cars being towed numerous times as well as watching the tow truck and operator creep around looking at cars. They illegally towed the vehicle then tried to extort us to get the vehicle back.

I had a family guest over and I registers their car on the park to pass it website at 8:30pm Friday Around 8: 45 am the next day the family member/guest left my house and noticed that their car was not there . They parked in visitors and the car was registered. We called 311 to see were the car was towed I gave the the plate number and the found it was 7 mins down the street at the space markers towing company . We spoke to the staff the car was wrongfully towed the license plate to the car was registered. The staff told me to send a email along with pictures he also stated that the owner would reach out and to wait a few hours or pay the tow, even tho it was there mistake. We waited 9 hours the owner did not reach out we called many times I sent over ten emails. We ended up paying the tow cause has a family and a job. My guest should be reimbursed for their mistake. I have been emailing for two days now. We have pictures. And the staff said owe so much money for wrongful tows. The space markers towing address is ******************************* ***** not the **** w ********* on not sure why they have that address cause it not it.

They have towed a car in my name twice that I gave to my grandma each time its been there fault for not knowing about the apartment. We had a sticker on the car that let ******* wherever the storage where they keep the car also said it was a bad tow but there was nothing they could do about it. Now it happend again last night the apartment told us to park in visitors and there's a number to call in we call it in everyday this time the tow company said they didn't know where visitors parking was so they just took the car. This seems like it is being targeted and it it needs to stop this is practically theft and there just acting like it's ok.

      Business response

We cant truly answer this question without the community name and the vehicle information. We are human and we do on occasion make mistakes but if youre a guest you must follow the rules just like everyone else. Many properties require guest to register to park every 24 hours and to park in designated spots. Also its the residents responsibility to inform their guest on where they can and can not park. Thank you

We were improperly towed from our paid parking spot. The tow company stated that the notes read that we were towed for parking in reverse and not having the proper display for our registered parking spot. This is all incorrect and when we asked the property managers to get involved for clarity - they agreed to reduce the fees rather than admitting fault and releasing our car without a penalty to us. They charged us $115 for an overzealous worker who towed our car without properly confirming that we are registered tenants.

My car was towed from my friend's apartment complex after we had validated the guest parking. Parking was validated at 11pm through the pass2parkit app that the complex uses. 2 and half hours later my car was towed by Space Maker Towing company. Upon arrival, the gentleman working the "front desk" said we still had to pay to get my car back. Even after showing the proof and time stamp of the valid guest pass. He let us know that we could email the company about a refund or we could take them to court. It's been almost a week since an email and we have yet to receive a response from the company. We would like to get this resolved without taking legal action but our patience is running thin.
