In June of 2019 IH roofing put a metal roof on my house. I not knowing at the time allowed them to put the metal over the existing shingles. When the owner came out to collect final payment we noticed several problem areas and he agreed not to charge me the rest of the money until the job was finished correctly. They never came back. I had gutters installed but the roof they put on was never touched. In August 2022 I noticed 2 small holes in the ceiling that started leaking. I called the company and when he finally came out he said he didn't see a problem and asked when I was going to pay him his money. Mind you, he had no record of any payment as he had closed the bank account and got a new secretary since the roof was installed. I reminded him of our agreement and he then accused me of having someone else mess with the roof. I explained that since he was unable to see a problem and only demanded more money I didn't trust his judgment and was going to have to call someone else to come take a look or do the work. He again said I had someone come and mess with the roof that it wasn't how he had left it. I had 2 x 4s added to the eave of my roof to attach gutters to. I've had several companies come out to check out the damage. All of the companies said that a metal roof cannot be installed over shingles, that IH roofing used the wrong nails to attach the metal, that the back part of the roof is just flapping there weren't even any nails (or screws, whatever) to hold it down on the back, and that there is an insufficient amout of flashing. To repair the damage I can have silicone injected around the screws to stop the leak, and more flashing installed, along with some other places siliconed that needed weatherstripping. I will be having a new company come out to remove and replace the entire roof. I am asking for a refund of material cost. I am also willing to give back the metal sheets, as I was told they are still usable if installed correctly.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:This is a note from a BBB employee. This is not a resolution to the problem. On September 30 Mr ********* sent a text "hello *****". I responded "yes"... I got no other correspondence from him. I am happy to be reasonable about the situation but cannot accept this response as a resolution.
