I contacted business to have a bathroom shower drain unclogged. Man came upstairs to shower and drilled and drilled with an electric snake device for almost 30 minutes. I kept hearing metal scraping against metal and knew something was not right. He told me to keep flushing toilet during the same period numerous times while the electric drilling continued. The drain eventually unclogged and as we walked down my stairs, gallons of water were pouring down through my downstairs hallway ceiling, light fixture, walls and carpet. Sheetrock and ceiling kept falling down for the following 12 plus hours. Man ran out of my house very quickly while telling me it was just an accident and that he had insurance with State Farm. A full month has passed and I have phoned State Farm every day and they have offered a very small amount for my damages in return for my signature to release the plumber from any further responsibility. My damages have been estimated to be between $5-10 K. My house has been damaged in multiple rooms and I would like some assistance with the repairs. State Farm can barely return my phone calls. This also hurts because I have maintained policies at ********** for over 35 years and during those years have paid my premiums faithfully every month without any claims being handled fairly.I would appreciate any advice or suggestions as to how to handle my damages.Business response

I went to ******************* house on ******** st.to clean a stopped up shower drain upstairs I ran a 1/4 cable down the drain the cable went through the rotten lead pipes under the shower the 2 inches of water that was in the pan draind on the wood floor in front of the door I explained to her that we would need to cut the sheetrock replace all the lead pipes with p.v.c I still don't believe that she understands that.i cleaned up all the water ,and put toe two wet pieces of sheetrock on the front porch everything was dry when I left I referred her to my insurance for them to handle it

I am rejecting this response because:I have read the response from Ballard Plumbing Company on the BBB website. A few comments that I would need to dispute include the cleanup of the water. The water dripped down my walls for over 12 plus hours while the sheet rock kept breaking off well into the late evening hours. I was not sure if the entire ceiling was about to collapse as much more than 2 pieces fell off. I phoned the police and fire and other emergency providers to come out the day and evening of the accident. I do appreciate the first responders and also that Ballard tried to clean some of the initial water damage because I was in shock. However, there is much cleanup to still be completed.
Ballard referred all my property damage to the insurance company. An initial offer was made in mid- August which does not appear to cover many of my monetary expenses. I have already spent close to $2,000 to have the water and drains working again. The insurance offer does not cover much more than what I have already paid out. The construction contractors have quoted at least $1,000 plus for sheetrock repair and another $2,000 for floor repair. I do not know if these are reasonable estimates or not. I also have wallpaper, carpet, rugs, electrical, towels, bathtub, and other damage that needs to be repaired. I have tried to clean a lot of the superficial stains and damage by myself but I need professional assistance. As an example, my lights are no longer working in my hallway and I do not feel that I am capable of figuring out how to make repairs on my own.
The insurance company is not returning any phone calls. I have sent receipts for repairs completed and they have not been reimbursed. It is almost two months since the date the accident occurred and my house is a mess.
I would appreciate any help for my property damage as I am unable to complete all repairs on my own. Perhaps, the Ballard Company could assist with the insurance coverage amounts because nothing has been provided yet.
