    Pattern of Complaint:

    On December 31, 2015 BBB reached out to Happy Motors LLC regarding a pattern of complaints filed against the business. 

    Consumers allege the business verbally states vehicles are in good working condition; however, after the purchase they find their vehicle has numerous repair issues; thus, rendering the vehicle inoperable and unsafe (including one complaint in which the consumer describes a life threatening situation of their vehicle catching on fire).  Additionally, consumers allege rudeness and lack of respect by management and employees.  Complaint information also indicates confusion regarding warranty and insurance coverage, the withholding of tax, title and licensing paperwork, lack of notification when purchasing salvaged or recalled vehicles and odometer issues such as: business not providing original odometer reading and odometer not working correctly at the time of purchase.

    On January 7, 2016, a representative from Happy Motors LLC contacted BBB responding that Happy Motors LLC has approximately 900 accounts and goes above and beyond in making repairs to the vehicles they sell. They carry notes longer but also have a high report rate. They spend approximately $20,000.00 a month on parts purchased for the vehicles they sell and they take care of those who cannot afford to purchase from other Dealers.

      I purchased this vehicle in April. 3 days later the vehicle broke down, they assured me that the vehicle did not have any issues. The vehicle needed a new starter , alternator, battery and transmission within two weeks of me having it. I contacted them several times in an attempt to get the issue resolved or get my money back but they just offered to charge me more money. They then came to tow the vehicle after we agreed that if I myself fixed it that would work with me on the payments the days before

      DATE OF TRANSACTION: 04/07/2023 AMOUNT: 800 DOWN **** FOR CAR COMMITMENT: While the car was sold as is, I was repeatedly reassured by mechanic and salesman the car was in good working order. I asked about p codes and lights on dash and was told it was just old and it was just minor wear and tear. I was not allowed to drive on highway. It stopped running in less than 30 minutes. Called and said tow truck was coming that day or next morning. Same thing on Monday. I finally called and told them i was having it towed and they turned the phones off. They were still off today. They manager and the mechanic refused to speak with me. The odometer was tapered with also. I had a mechanic check out the car and there was a blown head gasket that was corroded and water was in the oil. The mechanic said it had been like that for awhile. The car lot refuses to communicate with me. I want my money back over the fraud of the dealership. Not to mention the money I've had to spend on rides.

      Worst service ever.I put ***** down and I didnt have my car for a whole monthI brought my February 23,2023 and my note was due March 3,2023 I called them March 8,2023 on a Wednesday to tell them I need more time on my car note went up there March 9,2023 for them to fix my window and he going to tell me my car was up for repo cause I missed one paymentplease dont get a car from them cause they just about money that buy cars from auction for $300dollars and make you pay high for a broke down car but they will deal with they messed with wrong one

      I didnt have my car for a whole month and my car was up for repo

      I call this man Wednesday and told him I was going to pay something on it and he told me alright thats fine so when I come back in town Thursday I went to get my door fixed and when I went to go get my keys he to my car was up for repo cause I missed one payment on a car I just brought on February 23,2023 when I went up there February 27,2023 he told me I need full coverage insurance so I got itthey he told the ppl want 1,000dollars for me to get my car back so when I called he March 10,2023 he told me the ppl wanted the whole 1,400dollars on a car thats used and I had to fixed up its not right

      I paid a $1000 down and not even two weeks they came took the car because they was trying to trick me to get full coverage to get my windshield fix when they promise it will be here Tuesday but moral of the story they wanted me to get full coverage so they can go through my insurance to fix the window but they told me it was coming in so they came took the car just because it didnt have full coverage

      See attached for full details: $1,400 down payment + tax title and license. The car broke down the first day. It was supposedly repaired but we are still having difficulty with it. The transmission slips and it over heats.

      I have no idea why Mr ****** has filed a complaint with you all because he is current on his payments and insurance is current and he has never voiced a complaint about his vehicle to any employee of AAA Good times where he purchased his car from

      so I feel this not a valid complaint

      See attached for full complaint details. I have experienced several issues with the purchasing of this truck, as several things were not properly explained to me. I want explanations. I got an extension on the Note date (or so I thought and was told to me). They had no proper work and truck was repossessed on 9/7/22.

      He was repoed once for first payment default

      and no insurance  we let him get insurance and pay one hundred dollars towards his payment

      and redeem his car with out a repo fee  then he never came back and paid notes to catch up then he was repoed a second time for non payment

      now this time in order to get his car back he has to catch up his notes and pay his his repo fee which is  TOTAL OF 900.00

      Bought my car on March 23,2022 I never got to test drive the car bc the owner took the truck and left in it to go get copy paper so the owner said it have a lil tick noise on it only when u idling and I ask is it a loud noise he said no but when the part come in they will put it on free of charge I said ok I work in port Arthur can it make it back he said yes it's a good truck so I said ok I'm give it a try so later on that night it killed on me when I was bagging up in my driveway so I crunk it back up and finish parking it next morning I was driving to work it killed on me on the middle of the high way I called the carlot back the salesmen was so rude and hung up in my face I called back like 4 times the 4th time he pick up and said I see u calling but I'm buzy I said I'm on my way up there so he had me sitting for like 1hr until the owner came he said it's no refund and they don't give out loner cars nd they can't do nothing until a mechanic look at it so that when they say the motor went out on it I'm like I knew that how the motor was knocking when it killed so the owner said I have to come back in with at least 500$ they will put me in another car are put some money towards the motor I'm like I don't have any money money so that not right

      I was leasing a suburban and the transmission went out and they said they would fix it and I wouldn’t have to pay anything but when they got the vehicle and did the work said they I owned a note and repair bill and a repo fee

      Okay on March 24th 2022 I went to this car lot name good times and they put down 1500 on a truck and all he asked for was my ID so the first truck he put me in was a lemon the whole truck felt like it was going to fall apart so I took it back the next morning and told the man about the truck so he put me in another truck a 2000 SUV Acura MDX he told me to get insurance when I said okay but I did not read the last two page I had 73 hour to get the insurance so he waited for two weeks to come and get the truck he never call or left message so on March 7th 22 he came to Port Arthur where I live I did not know he was out there and he crazy about it is he must of was sitting at my apartment he could have took the truck from the apartment but he must of watching me come out of my apartment I got in the truck and he had followed me all the way from Port Arthur he followed me all the way to my friend house and pulled ing the driveway got out of his truck came to me and said the people told to get the truck so I asked him who is the people he said the one that's over him then he told me to get the insurance and I can got the truck the next day so remind you he never told me about Towing fee so the next morning I go back to the car lot he could tell me oh you're not going to like this he wanted $500 for towing fee so I asked him to talk to the people over him and he told me no and handed a card he gave to me when I first got the truck so Something Told Me call this number so I call and guess what it was the phone ringing next to him so he'll I all I want is my $1500 back please help me I work too hard to give away $1,500 until today I don't have the truck

      On 3/15/2022 I purchased my first car from AAA Good times I was very proud of myself being 18 and doing it on my own. The day I purchased the car it wouldn’t start, they did something to make it start and I was able to drive it off the lot to work. When I got off at 4 the car didn’t start again so I had to get someone to give me a jump. I called them about the power steering issue and he said I have to make a appointment. The very next day the car began to run hot and and shut down, I called the company and they said they will come get it. When I called the next day he said that I wasn’t getting it back til I paid $250 for towing and that nothing was wrong with it. My mom went me back to the lot to ask for the receipt so that should could pay the bill so I could have transportation to and from work. Instead of showing her the bill they drop the fee down to $125. Two days later the car ran hot again and shut down at Audio one where the owner was so nice to help me until I got off. When I got at 4 I checked on the car again but it still wouldn’t crank and that’s when we called the owner and he told me that he’s not giving it back to me nor my money.
