    I choose Belton Small Animal hospital to have surgery for my puppys hernia and ingrown hair on her eyelid. The surgery went well. Upon picking my puppy that, I confirmed with the follow up recheck appointment was complimentary. Five days later I called because I thought I could schedule over the phone (I was told that I needed to schedule online), but while I was on the phone I once again confirmed with the front office receptionist that it was at no charge. The following Monday I scheduled my appointment online and my puppy was seen. During the appointment DVM Hill confirmed that it looked like the tissue from the surgery hadnt fully healed, she performed a Flueroreciscein eye exam and gave me an ointment to heal the inflammation. Upon checkout the receptionist said that there was a charge for the recheck. I informed her that I was told twice beforehand that it was complimentary. She went back and spoke with the vet & the vet had refused to drop it. After I stood my ground on the additional charges I was called back to the exam room where DVM Hill and the office manager tried were extremely argumentative and DVM **** suggested that the recheck didnt apply to my puppys exam, then proceeded to name off a list of thing that would apply (I.e. checking the sutures). I told her that she had eye surgery and that it should of course apply. She then attempted to go down a hypothetical rabbit hole accusing me of not caring for my puppy. You admitted that you didnt fully follow the directions for the ointment. I told her that I followed it to my best ability, but in fact it shouldnt matter. The fact of the matter is that their receptionists twice told me that the recheck was complimentary and that if certain things didnt apply then they should have given me an itemized list beforehand (even though this would have been ridiculous). She proceeded to tell me that she was going to stop giving complimentary recheck. Not sure if she will or not.

    My daughter took her dog in for an emergency and because she misunderstood the name of the medication being prescribed by the vet; while they were out in the hallway preparing the items she could hear them laughing at her and mocking her. Upon being contacted by the practice manager who shared her concerns and how she was mortified she voiced it would be rectified. Today they merely post a response to my reviews as it was an honest mistake and that the vet and her tech were laughing with my daughter! REALLY; laughing with her in another room across the hallway when my daughter was obviously upset and emotional; nice try! What an insult to cover this up and merely sweep it under the rug Belton Small Animal Clinic; ******; you voiced you supported military veterans and could sympathize with what my daughter was going through; that is obviously not the case; I shared with you her reasons for being so emotional and her struggles with PTSD and you merely chose to just say they were all laughing together. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and you and ************ should be ashamed of yourselves. Way to treat our military veterans too! Especially embarrassing behavior on **************** part as she is married to an Army ******** you can be assured we will never use your services or ever recommend you all EVER.

    Again, we are very sorry for the miscommunication and confusion, but no ill-will was ever intended. It was truly a misunderstanding. We have kind employees that care deeply for animals and their owners and we would never intentionally make anyone feel embarrassed. At this time, it sounds as though we are not going to be able to convince you otherwise, so we will just have to agree to disagree regarding the events of that day.
