Purchased a stihl weed eater 14 months ago along with a 50 dollar gallon of gas to get a 2 year warranty on parts and labor. Told Weston I was replacing cheaper weed eaters every 2 years because they won't start. He suggested the warranty, and told me to store it empty of fuel and run dry for the winter. Weston says when you get ready to use it and it won't start bring it back and we will fix it for free. 11 months later it will only run full choke wide open. Take it to Weakly Watson and drop it off for warranty work. Clerk verified it was under warranty. 1 month latter I am told they are getting a new mechanic. A few weeks later I am contacted by the mechanic who tells me that the carburetor is bad. Asks me if I want it fixed? I say yes it's under warranty. He says I will check with my boss. A few weeks later I am told it's not ready. A few weeks later I am told by Weston that a big parts order is on the way and they are backlogged with 40 plus units. At roughly 3 months later I am told that it's ready, but locked up and only the mechanic has the key, and he is not here. They tell me they didn't have my phone number to let me know, but called to tell me prior the carburetor was bad. Later that day I get a call and I am told that it's not fixed, the warranty is voided, and the mechanic claims that I replaced the carburetor with a different one voiding the warranty. I told them that's not true and I have already bought a new weed eater, and to not worry about it I just don't care about it anymore. All I have ever done is checked the Air filter 1 time to see if it was dirty the day I tried to use it and it would not start and run correctly. I specifically purchased this weed eater so I would never have to work on it. To say I replaced the carburetor with a different one to void the warranty just don't sit well with me at this point. It's been there 3 months around 2 different mechanics, and I have no idea what has been done to it.
