We paid Brownwood Decorating $11,422.71 to remove our current flooring and install 1384.42 sq. ft. of Cortec LVP flooring which has a lifetime residential warranty. The project was completed on June 1, 2021. A few months later we started noticing the planks looked "swollen" where they met end to end. In February we had major freezing temperatures and many places in the kitchen were making crackling sounds and had buckled. The more we looked the more places we found with the same problem. We notified Brownwood Decorating on February 14, 2022 and the owner, ****** ***********, came out in February and agreed we had a problem. He notified Cortec and after several weeks sent Cortec some of our leftover planks. After several more weeks he said Cortec identified the problem and had recalled the planks from our lot. Weeks and months went by with Brownwood Decorating owner saying our flooring would be replaced at no cost to us. On May17, 2022 ****** *********** told me Brownwood Decorating had changed leadership and that he gave ****** ******** all the information about our flooring problem to ****** *******, We contacted ***** on May 26, 2022. On May 31 He came to see the flooring which continues to get worse. He indicated they there is no record of our purchase and he had not received any information from ****** so we made copies of our paperwork and the many texts between us and the former owner of Brownwood Decorating. We have contacted ****** twice since then and he says he's checking on it but will not tell us if he has talked to a Cortec representative or give any indication he is really working on a resolution. He will not answer a text from us. We started this process on February 21 and today is June 16 and as far as we know nothing has been accomplished in replacing our flooring. We need a resolution to this problem! At this point we would just like to be reimbursed and have no further dealings with Brownwood Decorating but would settle for new flooring.

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/07/06) */ "I took over my part of the business 4-6 weeks ago. When I started going thru the files I noticed some that needed some attention. The ******'s was one of those, I called them-she said she was tripping over the flooring with it's buckling, so I set up a date and went over to take a look at it. Turns out the flooring itself has been recalled and so I started the process of making it happen. A week in a half after visiting with them they filed this complaint. There are several steps that need to take place and none of them can happen overnight. The ****** have since been working with my partner on their flooring issues. We want to get this taken care of, we reached out to them, it just takes time." Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/07/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The response from ****** is not true. He did not contact us and did NOT try to work with us. We eventually found out ***** was a part owner and went to see her. She immediately checked with Coretec and told us they had approved floor replacement. It was quick and easy. Our floor color is either on back order or has been cancelled and we are having to make a floor color choice without going to Brownwood Decorating because he is so hostile toward us. Difficult situation!
