I had to euthanize my dog Pixie, a pomeranian, on November 1st very unexpectedly. I decided to get her cremated and to also have a paw print made up. I paid the vet who euthanized her (Firehouse Vet in ****, **) $175 for the cremation. I was told by my vet that Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory would pick her up on November 2nd and that I would receive an invoice from Rainbow bridge for $25 for her paw print and that I would receive her ashes and paw print in 2-3 weeks. One week went by and I still had not received an invoice for the paw print, I called rainbow bridge to find out what was going on but they didn't answer. I did leave a message for them to call me back. I never got a response. Two weeks went by so I called the vet to ask if they have heard anything and they have not. I also called Rainbow bridge again with no answer, so I left another message with no response back. Three weeks went by and still nothing so I messaged rainbow bridge using their website asking what was going on with my dogs body and that I still haven't received an invoice for her pawprint. I was concerned that they cremated her already without doing the pawprint first. Still no response. Out of nowhere I received the invoice for the pawprint on November 24th. The invoice was back dated to November 2nd and no response was given to me regarding Pixie's body. I paid it and also responded back to that email asking why nobody has answered me, again, no response. Just over four weeks went by so I called Firehouse Vet to ask them if they knew what was happening. The vet manager told me they have had the same issues with rainbow bridge in the past and they also tried calling with no response as well. I was told they were going to try to keep contacting rainbow bridge to try and get me an answer. It has now been 5 weeks and I still have no idea where my dogs body is, if she had been cremated, or if I will even get her ashes back, and even if I do, I do not trust that they will be my dogs ashes.
