I registered for a Botox course with American medical training for June 15 2024. On or about June 17th I wrote to cancel my class. It is now June 22 and I have e-mailed the customer service department. I received a response that said I needed to confirm the cancellation and the deposit will be returned minus 150$. My complaint is that it was only several days before I cancelled and I should not have to pay 150$ .

Customer- Thank you for taking the time and giving us feedback. Unfortunately, we are going to have to decline the billing adjustment. Our cancelation policy is not only listed on the website, but must be agreed upon before we allow registering for the class. Our policy is not only an industry standard, but is more flexible than most. We try to keep a very flexible re-scheduling policy, acknowledging that medical professionals have hectic schedules. We bend over backwards to make things work for our students- but, should you choose not to take the course with us, we do provide an opportunity for a refund minus the processing fee. We must do this because not only do we pay fees to process your transaction to being with, but it requires work from the home office staff every time we have to adjust rosters. Should you choose to take a course with us in the future, we will be happy to apply that amount off the cost of your course.

On July 19th, I reserved a spot in a hybrid course to be trained on Botox injections and filler injections. The deposit terms of agreement stated a refund would be honored if requested at least 21 days prior to the day of the seminar starting. I originally had my training scheduled August 12th and had schedule conflicts and on August 1st a customer service representative rescheduled and confirmed my in-person training day as September 17th 2023. After receiving the confirmed new date and quickly addressing the mistake, that I could not make this date, I reached out to cancel this training course for September 17th they said it was not within the 21 days of my first seminar start date of august 12th so no refund would be given. However, this verbiage was not in the terms at all- which simply stated it could be cancelled with 21 day notice before the confirmed seminar date began. (Which would now be September 17th) There is no wording that says it goes by the original date you choose, the wording describes it as going by the confirmed seminar date. I would like a $500 deposit refund and to be removed from their course schedule as it seems to be some sort of scam.

      Customer,

Thank you for contacting AMET and we are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with our policies. The reason you are not entitled to a refund is because the request was within 21 days of your purchased class. We did allow you to reschedule, as we try to maintain a flexible rescheduling policy for our customers who are nurses, doctors, etc. We understand life happens, sometimes a last minute on-call situation happens, an emergency patient, etc. - so we maintain that flexibility for those situations. This flexible reschedule policy is not designed to get out of our cancellation policy - otherwise, if anyone wanted to cancel for a refund, they would just reschedule their class and then request a refund. This is why when you reschedule, you no longer have a deposit, but a credit for a future class. Credits are non-refundable.
