This company is absolutely awful! Once you purchase your home, good luck getting them to fix one thing in a timely fashion, effectively and if ever! I have spent over 200 hours dealing with this nightmare of a business owner over issues with the home and/or the contractors they hired. I have scheduling evidence and emails to prove such. Currently, they refuse to fix holes in our walls their contactor left, after he installed the ** holder in the wrong place. This holder has been an ongoing YEAR issue. Attempts to fix it have been made, resulting in it falling out of the wall each time. ******* (Heartland employee) put a block in the wall and did a patch. Then the installer came a month after our year **** because THEIR contractor was in ****** until then. He placed the holder in the wrong spot. He then had to move it. Now the holes remain and the owner, ******, is refusing to fix it saying it has passed the year **** and believes it is in the correct place. Had his employee (*******) who placed the block came that day, he could've told the gentleman (understood limited English) where to hang it. This, unfortunately, is par for the course and has been our typical experience throughout this whole year warranty period! We've had so many issues, I had to switch to a night position to be here during the day to meet with various contractors. Some contractors would take our calls, but ****** never would! Some contractors were easy to work with, but many were awful and rude and operated just like ****** and his employees. Following issues had to be addressed repeatedly:*Irrigation issues *Water flooding into our closet, which resulted in shower tile grade needing go be fixed and wet carpet *Electrical issues that caused over a *500 dollars in food loss *Toilet paper and towel racks falling off the walls/mounted incorrectly *Oven and stove top issues *Serious HVAC problems *Doors *Floors *Fixtures *Sinks *Fence *Garage

      Business response

      08/19/2024

Heartland Home Builders has stood behind and addressed every single legitimate item or issue with integrity and honesty, even going a step further in some instances and repairing items created by the homeowner. Heartland Home Builders has proof of addressing each and every issue that was brought to our attention. All items were addressed in a timely manner per industry standards. Heartland Home Builders and it's representatives have endured months of verbal and electronic harassment from this particular homeowner. This complaint was brought on by the homeowner being unsatisfied that Heartland Home Builders would not absorb additional expenses in fixing an issue that the homeowner created by improperly directing a Heartland Home Builders subcontractor to alter the completed work that the subcontractor had done in their home. Heartland Home Builders has video/photo evidence of this specific item and rightfully refused to expend anymore time or money addressing it. This complaint is riddled with misinformation and inaccuracies which is on par with the verbal and electronic harassment our company has dealt with over the last 14 + months.

I am rejecting this response because:

This company will lie to save face, at all cost. I also have proof of what a horrible company this is. I have emails, videos, pictures, video footage in my home, and outside of my home! They have nothing like I have! They have a little video of where their contractor placed a toilet paper holder incorrectly, based on where ******* (heartland employee) had put a block behind the sheetrock because for months is kept falling out and they never could adequately fix it. So, a block was finally placed. They are trying to say it was in a block. No, it was in a stud and the stud was too close to the toilet seat, and was not the proper placement! I have videos and pictures of initial placent. They do not! Then they tried to act like they wanted to come look at it (deceitful much) only to come and take pictures and videos to try and do exactly what they do, dispute accountability. They have zero footage of where it was initially. Again, ****** loves to lie and throw his weight around when he's never stepped one foot in this house since we bought it.

He claimed we created damage they fixed?! Negative! The tile placed in the bathroom is so slick, the shower rod fell and hit my daughter in the head. As a result, my husband placed it on the sheetrock, temporarily, until we could find a resolution. As a result, it left a spot in the paint. When they came to fix, and paint big holes in my walls from the toilet paper holder and towel holder repeatedly falling out of the walls, they painted the spot! The spot in the same bathroom as the work being done.

No, everything has not been fixed. The ceiling that was suppose to be textured before being painted never got done. ******* dismissed the kitchen backsplash, deeming it a lost cause. The bricks in garage under the doorway were never set and move (just found that). Sheetrock in the garage is cracking (just found that). Of course, I saw these last week and we are passed the year ***** but a decent human would care and fix things that were done with such carelessness. Not him! I mention it here only because it highlights the kind of contractors that he chose to build our home. The other things that were not completed, ******* did know about before the year ***** I let it go because it would require a huge fight to have the backsplash pulled and another nightmare of having the contractors back out to spray texture and repaint. Honestly, I was sick of them I chose to not mention it again. However, the last thing they were suppose to complete, that should have been easy became an issue. For them to leave holes in the wall, due to an incorrect mount was the last straw.  Then to try to argue they aren't responsible is infuriating. Again, ****** knows nothing because he's the type of owner that doesn't put his boots on the ground for his customers.

I am not the only person that has had similar issues with this company. They don't value their customers at all. They don't care that we spent almost ******* dollars on a home that has had SO many issues. He has tried to minimize every single thing we have gone through. Nothing is normal about our issues. He says they are, but even our neighbors offer sympathy as to how many contractors are in and out of our home. How much time off I have had to take from work! Just an example: not even a phone call of concern when our home closet and yard was flooding within 24 hours of purchasing the home, or when our breaker kept tripping and there was food loss in the same 24 hours. They never communicate via phone. They will never allow you to come to their office. They never want to be accountable to anyone. They care less about anyone's troubles!

To be accused of any form of harassment is laughable and slanderous. Our communication has always been about constant needs of this home and having to consistently remind THEM to do their job. Unfortunately, they take weeks, and sometimes months, to even respond.

They have NEVER fixed one thing in a timely fashion. Heck, our yard was dying because of poor irrigation. ****** refused to even come look at what we were saying. It took MONTHS to even get that resolved. They are a nightmare to deal with!

They claim they have proof of various things!? Proof of what?! That I have contacted this company repeatedly for resolve due to poor work? That I've constantly had to remind them, beg them, hold them accountable to adhere to the warranty in place?!  What else do they expect!? If anyone has ****, WE DO! I will be glad to showcase ALL of my emails, videos, home videos, ring doorbell, in home camera system, pictures, etc., to anyone that would like to see what has happen in and out of this home with each of their contractors and Heartland employees.

I'm not the only one with proof of a terrible experience. The ************ (Ace) that Heartland Home hired to install the **** system, prior to us buying the home, didn't receive payment from ******. We were served by an attorney with legal documents, the 2nd week of us being in this home, for a possible lien to be put on our home due to lack of payment. In other words, if he didn't pay it and we didn't pay it, a lien would be placed on our home. If that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what will! He deflected and blamed it on an oversight! An almost year oversight?! The stress they have caused me and my family is incomprehensible. This is the kind of person running this company. In true ***************************, he tried to blame them like he's tried/tries to blame us.

All ****** ever does is deflect. As I stated, I also have plenty of proof of how he/they are neglectful, disrespectful, and downright arrogant as a company.

      Regards,

      ***** Page

Builder, *****************************- has completely stopped responding to all correspondence via email, text, and attempted phone calls. Builder has failed to install proper cabinets that were agreed upon, and reimburse for an out of pocket AC repair. There is supposed to be a one year warranty walk through, and I have no way to know that will happen due to the complete lack of response. We have lived in the house for 10 months now at this time.
