I purchased kimchi made by H-mart for $5.99 (7/12/24 was the date of purchase). After we ate it, my husband and I started experiencing stomach pains and diarrhea not knowing if it was the kimchi or not, we still kept eating it daily until today (7/13/24). I was recording a video eating the kimchi until I bit into something slimey and chewy that tasted very fishy and rotten. I spit it out and immediately began gagging and I ran to the sink to throw up because I accidentally swallowed a piece of it. My husband took a look at it and couldnt make out what it was but he said it resembles fish guts. Afterwards, I spent 20 minutes throwing up and trying to get the disgusting taste out of my mouth. It was my first time purchasing kimchi made at hmart and it will be the last time. I have the receipt that I fortunately scanned into my fetch app and the video I was recording for proof as needed. I am waiting for their response as I have sent them an inquiry request.

      To Whom it May Concern,

The refund to the customer has been completed.

      Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because:  They offered me a refund but told me I would need to go in store with the original receipt. I told them I live an hour away, its not an easy drive to make with kids just to receive a refund of $5.99. I also told them I do not have the physical receipt in hand anymore. I only have the receipt that I took a picture of from my fetch app. A refund is not sufficient enough for the food poisoning my husband and I got and the foreign matter that I swallowed from the kimchi. They did not issue me a refund and I will not drive an hour to only receive a small refund.

Our records show $5.99 has been refunded to the credit card ending in 1007 on 7/25. I am attaching the transaction history for reference.

I went into the store in Carrollton, Texas on December 20th, 2021 and was charged twice for my groceries. The cashier who payed out my groceries had her register machine die AFTER I had paid and signed for my items. She insisted that the payment would not go through but I already had a charge processing on my bank account. The customer service attendant was incredibly rude and unhelpful stating the exact same thing and refused to help me until I got someone who spoke English to help me. I understand there is a language barrier however being denied help just because I speak English is discrimination. I was told they could handle this over the phone since you need to see it go through my bank, which it did. However the same customer service attendant was on the phone and told me that's impossible. I can't come between 8-6 on Mon-Fri because of work and traffic to get there is impossible. I arrived at 6, was refused help, and given the same excuse. After arguing with your customer service attendant I was told they can't check the office after 6pm and told me to come in tomorrow during the same time, ignoring my explanation of why I can't do that. I have to go out of my way to go to this store, it's 45 minutes away for me. At this point it sounds like this store doesn't want to give me my money back.
