I've been using this company's service for the lasts few months. I got several calls from them offering me a cheaper card processing fee than the one I had with ******. There was a lady in charge of the calls who made several tries before I agreed. She would ask me why would I continue using ****** when they charge me a higher processing fee than the one they did. I told her that ****** might not be the cheapest company in the market, but it was one that I trusted. She offered to send me a card processing device that would work with my phone. She told me I could try it for free with no compromise and that she was very sure that I was going to change to their company as soon I start to notice the lower fees. I was very hesitant to change since it was a company I knew nothing about. One of the things that made me agreed to use their services was the fact that they had an A+ rating with the BBB. That gave me some trust. I asked the lady what would happen if I decided to leave. She told me that I could do it with no problem and that there would be no penalties, that I just had to let them know a month in advance. Because of low sales, I have decided to close my business. So I called the agent they put in charge of my business, whose name is Joe ******* to let him know. He told me to call another department and gave me their number. I called them and they told me that I had agreed to a 36 month contract and that I was going to have pay a penalty of $500 for leaving earlier. This is something very different from what the lady from the calls had said. I requested to speak back to her and they told me they have no idea who this lady was. I'm not willing to pay their $500 fee because that was not the agreement. The agreement was that I had to notify them a month in advance if I leave and I want them to respect it. Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2021/12/21) */ If the merchant has closed their business they need to return the equipment that we provided them. In addition, merchants are responsible for the terms of conditions of their Merchant Agreement. Our Representative do not make assertions as the one this merchant had alluded to. Regardless, the merchant is welcome to call us back to see if we can make some arrangement for them since they have closed their business and it is very difficult times.
