            Been in the house since November 2023 and Christmas Eve of ************************************************************************* basement. We have a hard time getting in touch with landlord and once we do they will text a vendor thats coming out. 2 has came out only to not resolve the issue. Every time it rains it floods in the basement and when it dries up you can smell the mildew. My grandson and his mother and father stayed in the basement and my grandson got sick and stayed in *** for bronchitis remind you that hes 11 months old. They still not trying to make this a major priority I have pictures of the flooding and paper trail of everything maintenance request I have put in. They will put down that it has been completed and its not. Call my home renters insurance and they would not accept my claim because I was told they have had 3 claims on flooding at this house since 2018 My family and I has never been late on payment majority of the time we paid our rent early. This time we are behind 618 and still paying on it. But had to use money to wash clothes, put things in storage and stay with someone else until basement aired out because the mold smell was coming into the open areas. Had to pay someone to stay there and also gas and food to get back and forth to the hospital with family for grandson.

            After living pillar to posts for 10 months my mother and I managed to stumble across this property. Very spacious and roomy for my son and myself. It made me feel proud as a father giving him his own room again and a fresh start after the rough year of unstable living conditions. Upon speaking with mexell property managements staff I informed the woman I spoke with about me having trouble finding someone to accept me as a tenant. Due to pending (non conviction) issues within my background and if they'd give me a chance they wouldn't regret it. I was approved, paying $3,300 for first months rent and deposit plus an additional $825 (risk fee I assume). Found multiple issues that I bought to the mexell staff and the minors fixes were handled. But here I am 6 months later after dealing with FOUNDATION ISSUES , LEAKS and to top it off here I am present day in a hospital waiting room to be seen and tested for BLACK MOLD EXPOSURE!!! I've been patient, polite and professional but my son and I's HEALTH and LIVING STANDARDS will not be determined by the judgement of SLUM LORDS. Who literally show the display of little to no regards of suitable living to the very people who fund their lifestyles and luxuries, while I pay top dollar to live like a 3rd class peasant.
