My experiences regarding the Glass Doctor of Dallas Metroplex service:1.Misleading customers on lifetime warranty: Regardless the invoice states Lifetime Warranty without any restriction, their lifetime warranty only applies to the material, not labor costs. To have them honor the warranty, customer needs to pay $75 warranty assessment fee in front, or no technician will be sent to verify the warranty. Also, the customer needs to accept the estimate and pay half of the estimate of their Labor Cost for the warrant repair, or no repair will be provided. 13 windows were installed on 7-19-2019. The invoice shows Lifetime Warranty without any contingency on labor costs.2.Unacceptable quality of the material and/or workmanship: As I know, the normal life of a window is at least 10 plus years. To have seven foggy windows out of thirteen windows (over 50%) they installed over four years ago is out of ordinary and unacceptable (one more was found on 6-14-2024 while installing replacement windows)3.Excessive charge of labor costs: The initial estimate for the window replacements labor cost was around $1,400 which is about the same price as new windows and installation. After lengthy negotiation, it was reduced to $850. After paying half of the labor cost, $425, the foggy windows were replaced on 6-14-2024. After completed the work, we were told that he worked for one hour and the cost is $180. 4.Unknown and unauthorized signatures on the final invoice: After paying the remaining fee, I received a final invoice without any warranty information and with two unknown and unauthorized signatures which indicated that I (customer) was satisfied with the work. I sent two emails to have Glass Doctor to remove those two signatures and was told they will figure it out. Two weeks have passed with nothing happening.Glass Doctor of Dallas Metroplex Response

Ordered a large custom replacement window from the Glass Doctor in Sept. 2023. They removed my old window, and as they were installing the replacement window, they realized they mismeasured. So they had to put the old window back and reorder. Waited another month, the second window came in. As they were installing the window, they scratched it in several places. Now it's December 2023, and they are here on their third try. They've removed the old window, and applied the glue. Now they are trying to figure out how to lift the third replacement window up. The glue only has 30 minutes before it dries. You'd think they would have this figured out before applying the glue! We've have to take time off of work all 3 times. After the second time, we called and left message for the owner to call us back. No one responded. Only one out of the 3 crew members really know what he is doing. The other 2 are just following orders. Crew is courteous, but inexperienced. The lack of response from the owner is unacceptable. The test of a good contractor/business is how professional the contractor/business reacts when there the customer has a problem. The ****************** is not a reputable business.Review from Kelly O

We moved into a new house in April '23 and wanted a doggy door installed in our back door. A technician came out, saw our dog, and recommended a size. We put down a deposit. When they finally installed the doggy door, it was too small for our dog. She would have had to dislocate a shoulder to get through it. Even the installation technician thought it looked small. I called to try to resolve the issue a few days after installation and no one called me back. I waited a couple of weeks and when I didn't hear from them I disputed the second half of the payment with ***************** They never responded to the dispute. I was going to let it go has losing half of the cost since I probably should have doublechecked the size, but when we went to have the doggy door taken out and the glass replaced, we learned that they replaced our UV glass with an inferior glass and they took our superior glass with them. It's practically theft. So, then I disputed the other half of the charge, because that's simply not acceptable. Again, no one went through the dispute process with Amex. A couple of weeks ago I received a letter demanding payment. I have since tried calling them 3 times and emailing them to attempt to come to a resolution but I have heard nothing back from them.Glass Doctor of Dallas Metroplex Response

Very dissatisfied with the ********************* service I recieved from ****************** in *********** **. Originally used Glass Dr. to replace glass in 6 windows with failed seals in 2015. Glass Dr.'s quote was about twice the other quotes we received. The salesman promptly went out to his truck & returned in 10 - 15 minutes & cut his estimate in half making him competitive & he said Glass Dr. had the best warranty in the business; lifetime warranty against failed seals. I am very thorough & have a list of specific questions we ask all contractors during the initial ******************** their answers. We decided to go with Glass Dr. because they lowered their price to be competitive (but still slightly higher) & because of the lifetime warranty.
Over the past couple of years, we have had 9 additional windows with failed seals. We again got multiple estimates & once again, Glass Dr.'s quote was the highest (over twice as high as the company we ended up selecting; ************************. Of the 9 windows, 2 of the windows with failed seals were windows previously replaced by Glass Dr.; that's a 25% failure rate which seems high. Anyway, during the initial interview with the Glass Dr. ********* we told the salesman that 2 of the 9 windows should be under warranty. We showed him all the documentation we had from the original job. He said he could not honor the warranty but would get with their Warranty Manager and Sales Manager & have them call me to discuss the warranty issue & the extremely high quoted price. He said the 2 managers would call me within 24 - 48 hour. I waited 2 days, didn't hear from either manager. After around 6 times of calling them (including calling the company owner ******************** twice) & not getting a call from any of them, I finally told them we would not do business with them due to horrilble customer service. Finally, a saleman, not the managers or owner, called & agreed to honor the warranty. TOO LATE, TOO EXPENSIVE & VERY POOR SERVICE!Glass Doctor of Dallas Metroplex Response

Mr. *******, we apologize for the communication break down but we were willing to honor those 2 units for 100% warranty coverage - unfortunately due to inflation cost have gone up causing the remaining units to be higher.Review from Ben C

Company intentionally deceives potential customers. The website directly states "Get a free in-home consultation". While trying to schedule the consult, the company then requires the customer to pay a fee to schedule the "free consultation."Glass Doctor of Dallas Metroplex Response

Glass Doctor of North Texas has four websites affiliated. None of the four webpages have any verbiage that claim a free in-home consultation. Our employees do require a service fee of $35 to be collected to place a customer on our specialists route. This fee is then added into the overall cost of whatever work is needed for the customer. This is all explained when speaking to customers. The original call with Mr. ***** can be provided in which it was also explained. This is a false claim. Please reach out to *****@glassdoctordfw.com if you have any further questions.Review from Autumne P

Did not show up for scheduled time of appointment. Gave me a 10-1 window and night before said 3-5. Told sorry. Nothing they can do. Terrible customer service. Cannot get a live person as an existing customer so had to select new customer and then was transferred to the same voice mail and no one returned my call. Text received right before my scheduled time "I apologize for that mix up. The routes are not built until the day before. While we try to accommodate every time frame, unfortunately it is difficult to do so. I took a look at the routes and unfortunately do not have anyone in the area during that 10:00-1:00 frame.
