Vida Contractors Texas is a local builder who, over the past 2.5 years, has demonstrated a severe lack of professional competence, integrity, and adherence to legal obligations. This grievance involves a residential construction project that began approximately 2.5 years ago, for which I have paid approx $149,000 to date. The builder committed to construct a habitable residential house according to the agreed-upon plans within a four-month timeframe. He presented himself as a licensed professional and claimed BBB accreditation, both of which were later discovered to be misleading. He also pledged to uphold professional standards, ensure quality work, and complete the project within the budget. The dispute lies in his failure to uphold these commitments. Despite the substantial payment, the builder has left the house in an uninhabitable and uninsurable state. The work that was done is fundamentally flawed, requiring it to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch. Additionally, the builder ceased construction without notice and has since been non-responsive to attempts at communication.Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts to resolve the issues, including issuing a Notice of Default and a Notice of Termination, the builder has shown no interest in rectifying the situation. He did not respond to either notice, leaving me with no choice but to seek legal recourse for damage recovery. The builder's actions have not only resulted in significant financial loss but have also led to substantial emotional distress. I believe that he has contravened several legal statutes, including the Residential Construction Liability Act (Tex. Prop. Code ******, ******), the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and the Trust Funds Statute (Tex. Prop. Code *******, 162.007).I'm filing this complaint to ensure that the builder is held accountable for his actions and to prevent future clients from suffering a similar fate.Initial Complaint

In June of 2021 I contracted ***** to paint and address various items in At one of my rental units with the address of **************************************************************. My tenant complained about fan noise of a fan installed by ***** and his team. I had a certified electrician inspect it through my American home shield warranty. They reported that an incorrect junction box was used when the fan was installed causing the fan to have movement while it was operating. This movement is creating clicking sounds making it challenging to sleep at night when its on. The warranty provided by ***** was one year. Hes been notified multiple times And on February 1 of 2022 he reluctantly agreed to fix the issue. I have attempted to contact him multiple times since and as of March 7, 2022 I have yet to get any additional responses from him.
