I went to this 'emergency room' with a broken foot. Was asked for my insurance card, I have ********** blue shield, which I gave and was given 'consent to treat' paperwork (what I was told). I then was treated for my broken foot with an xray and ice, given a boot and crutches, and went to check out. This is when I learned I was 'out of network' and that they do not submit to or contract with insurances. I was offered a 'hardship plan' for $950 and told by the lady at the desk to never come back because it's all a scam the way they do their billing and hide that they're not in network from customers. I have a $100 copay for ER visits typically and even made a joke about being close to my max out of pocket to the doctor and still not informed. I was also told by the girl at the desk my insurance would probably reimburse me the $950, this is not what happened. The day before Christmas Eve I spent $950 for a broken foot with zero expectation of it being that expensive when I showed up.Business response

They keep charging me for coming to the emergency room but I never went inside the emergency room. I never left my car. I just wanted the FREE Covid-19 test and I keep telling them this but they keep sending me bills.Initial Complaint

My son was charged $1503.00 for a single COVID test performed at this urgent care facility. He needed the negative result in order to take an exam in person in February 2021. This claim was filed to BCBSTX my insurance and I have filed a fraudulent claim there as well against this urgent care location. Criminal to charge a young man $1503 for a COVID test, much less without telling him.
