My check to pay for my water **** was dated 6/23/2022 by my bank and was in the business' possession on that date. However, they did not take the check for deposit until 6/24/2022 to **************** *************** did not cash and pull the money from our account until 6/27/2022. At that time, we had insufficient funds in our account and the check bounced. We were only made aware of this on 7/5/2022 by Wellborn Water Special Utility District. Once made aware of this issue, I contacted my bank who stated that the funds from the bank would be only drawn when *************** cashed the check. Upon discussing this all with *****************************, the Office Manager at Wellborn Water Special Utility, and being provided proof of the check not being processed until 6/27/2022, she refused to reverse the returned check fee for $25 despite the fact that the business did not process the check on the date it was issued. In addition to that she stated the fee would remain on our account and result in additional charges. I will also note that as soon as I found out the **** had not been paid on 7/6/2022, I went in on line and paid that in full.
