Call office monthly to get water bill amount. They pull up account, give me the dollar amount & I pay...it's been $43.90 for over a year. November 2022, I get on new Paystar billing & my bill is $606.70! I call the office, owner tells me THEY underestimated my account for a long time. She tells me the batteries in their radio readers were DEAD (Not my fault!). She will not give me the same amount of time to get this bill caught up! Tells me I only get 6 months, plus whatever my current monthly water bill is! I'm 70, alone, on a fixed income. Financially, I cannot do this. I just got December's water bill $732.27!! I also want the 10% or $10 late fees waived!! This is all THEIR fault and they've callously dumped the costly burden on me!Business response

Consumer Response /* (2000, 5, 2022/12/07) */ Good morning... I would like to CANCEL Complaint Case #XXXXXXXX I called N.Hunt S.U.D. yesterday after seeing my December bill was $732.27. I wanted to understand 'why'. For the first time the staff was very pleasant and decided to reduce my entire bill to$334.90. I paid $170.00 12/05/22, which left my balance at just $164.90. Therefore, please cancel this complaint as soon as possible. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Regards,Initial Complaint

I have been given the runaround for approximately five months now on receiving water service at my new home. I have paid $775 to an engineer who has stated that a waterline extension is not necessary. I have paid in full the amount for the water meter and still not receiving any indication as to if I will get a water meter set or when. This has been the absolute worst experience trying to get water service established.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/09/14) */ The application was given to the Engineers office and is a separate entity from North Hunt SUD. The customer has stated they are not required to do line upgrades to install the meter. I have received a letter from the Engineer stating line upgrades are necessary. So we have been working out these details. We have also had a loss of employees and we are working to hire additional help at this time. I have the Engineer report for review.
