I had a water leak in the center of my kitchen,where the sink,dishwasher,garbage disposal and countertops are,I called the water restoration people and they came out and started ripping a part the island ,within a few hours there was the bar and where the leak was ,there was some drywall.Then he pulled part of the laminate flooring up there was a lot of water ,then he pt the fans on.Mean while I call my insurance company up and told told them I had a water leak,then I was assign a claims adjuster,then she asked if I call any contractor and I said not yet,but I was given a contractor name and the people said he was good and honest,she said ok call him.I call him and set up a appointment,he came out on the 20 th of July ,we talked and looked at everything and asked if I had anything left ,i said yes I took him in the garage I had 3doors ,the top of the cabinets,sink,garbage disposal and dishwasher was in the house.He took measurements then we sat down again and I asked how long will it take and he said he is 12 weeks out ,I look at my wife and she wasn’t to happy since we were selling the house,it was on the market 4 days.Three months and I asked could it be sooner and he said we are pretty busy.So I sign the contract since I trusted him,this was on the 20 th and on th 23 th I received something from him I didn’t read it since we were looking for a hotel to stayed at from the insurance broker,she had to send it to the company for approval and they rejected it,the claim lady told me the company rejected it and I said why ,she asked me did look at it ,he wants $31,000 so had it made bigger so I can see it,he wanted to do the whole kitchen,take all the cabinets out paint the ceiling,doors and windows.The claims adjuster gave me some numbers to call it is contractor’s that they use ,I found one he came out ,the price was right .Meanwhile I told Dwyer we found a contractor that can do it now,actually this contract should be null and void ,now he wants to charge me $750.
