Hired this company approx 18 months ago to build our home. Signed a contract with them stating the build would take 8 months and for every calendar day over those 8 months we would be entitled to liquidated damages. There was never a formal schedule provided for work to be done, crews would randomly show up, do minimal work and almost always break/damage something that we then had to repair ourselves or hire someone else to fix. Main problems: 1. The **** system installed was 8yrs old, taken from at least 2 different homes. The units were mismatched, undersized, outdated and based off of the serial numbers being removed we believe at least the compressor was stolen! 2. The pipes ran under our foundation were too low to connect to our septic tank properly causing us to have to hire someone to install a grinder pump. The builder was supposed to do this and then never did. 3. The lack of communication was deafening. If we wanted an update we had to reach out every time and never got a straight answer. 3. We had to extend our build as our contract with the lender ended at 12 months. We extended another 6 months and with approx 1 months left before that was to expire we still need insulation, driveway/landscaping, **** completed, septic connected and multiple items in the house to be completed. All of this we had to do ourselves as the builder just stopped showing up and barely answered our calls. We paid the builder the sum of the contract minus 15k which was meant to be paid as the remainder of their company profit but since we invested over $60k of our own money and the builder refused to reimburse us for ANY of that, we took that remainder at closing. Finally, the day of closing, we came home to a stopped up septic system only to discover that the pipes in the foundation were not installed properly causing an additional $8300 fix. Bottom line, unless you are planning to do this build yourself....stay away from this builder at all costs!! Broken promises and fraud.Initial Complaint

CLIFF AND HIS COMPANY STARTED COVERSION OF A BULIDING FOR ME TO A APARTMENT IN 2020 ESTMATE. I WAS UNABLE TO FINISH PROJECT DUE TO HEART ISSUES AND LACK OF MONEY. ***** RECIEVE PAYMENT FOR WORK PREFORMED. UPON ATTEMTING TO CORRECT FRONT DOOR STICKING HIS EMPLOYYE **** MY FLOOR UP RESULITING IN THE LOOSING OF THE BUILDIN FROM THE FOUNDATION. AFTER SERVERAL REQUEST FOR REPAIR AND UNSUCCESFUL ATTEMPS THE DOOR IS VERY HARD TO OPEN.. AND MY BUILDING IS VERY UNLEVEL. I HAVE RECEVIED MANY VERBAL PROMISES OF REPAIR, A LONG WITH EXCUSES OF NO TIME TO DO IT. PAYMENT WAS RECEIVED IN THE FORM OF A DRAW FOR THE FLOORING UPON COMPLETION. DURING THE INITIAL INSTALATION.I AM HOPING THAT GTR WILL LIVE UP TO THEIR COMITMENT TO MAKE GOOD ON THE REPAIRS AS PROMISEDBusiness response

This complaint is correct and an ongoing issue. Because of the **** soils expanding and contracting with moisture or lack thereof from weather, a problem causes that part of the building to raise and lower. We have made a number of attempts to correct the problem, but it reoccurring. I have sent men out to reassess the problem and attempt to correct it. We will do our best to satisfy this client and resolve the problem to his satifaction.

I am rejecting this response because:Promise has been made but not completed Reference to soil being **** is incorrect. **** was added as top soil and is not a base soil.
Project needs to be completed.

START DATE FOR 2 CAR DETACHED GARGAE FEBRUARY 16, 2022. 12 WEEKS TO COMPLETE GARAGE, IT IS NOW OCTOBER 11, 2022 AND THE GARAGE IS NOT FINISHED. OWNER WILL NOT ANSWER PHONE OR EMAILS, TEXT MESSAGES. Client is correct. We have fallen behind in the work process. We are at the tail end of the job and have every intention of finishing the complete project. Due to company hardship, my illness and some labor problems this kjb has lagged for much longer than it should have. We have work going on at his job this week and will complete all phases of his job.
