Detail : I am writing to file a formal complaint against Texas Family Fitness located at *************************************. I believe the gym has engaged in deceptive and unfair business practices, resulting in unauthorized charges and not providing the service. Below, I provide a detailed explanation of the situation which also happened to 3 of my friends who referred me.On 02/20/202 I joined Texas Family Fitness which was referred to by my friends, agreeing to a membership fee of $240 per month each. I signed a contract based on this verbal agreement. However, over the subsequent months, I encountered several issues with billing and management changes at the gym.Initial Overcharges:For the first two months after joining, I was charged $560 per month instead of the agreed-upon $240 Upon realizing the discrepancy, I immediately contacted the gyms then-manager, *****, who acknowledged the error and applied a credit to my account for the next four months to correct the overcharges, and I don't have to pay for the next 6 months which is till September 2024.Managerial Changes and Reinstatement of Overcharges:Recently, a new manager, [*****], took over the gyms management. This month, I was again charged 560, the incorrect amount, which the new manager justified by stating that he did not recognize any verbal agreements made by the previous manager. He insisted that the contract I signed specified the $560 rate.Upon reviewing my contract, I discovered that the previous manager had altered the contract, inflating the monthly rate without my knowledge or consent.Discovery of Fraudulent Activities:Further inquiries with GYM people and personal Trainers who are working there revealed that the previous manager was fired due to engaging in deceptive practices, including altering contracts and manually deferring payments to cover up these discrepancies.

Texas Family Fitness fraudulently double charged me for Personal Training. I was charged $376 on 6/28 and again on 7/3. After weeks of calls and in-person requests, the club at 380/**** admitted I was fraudulently charged, but refused my refund. They explained that an employee set up a 2nd account for me, rather than cancelling or changing the original. This is why I was double charged. They told me he also did this to many other accounts.I spoke to ***** at the club and on the phone. I went to the club on 7/23 to try and explain the situation in person and get finally my refund. I was told ***** was on the phone with corporate and would talk to me after that. Then, I saw her assisting other members, completely disregarding me - taunting me. The district manager was there at that time and I was told he said he could talk to me but he had to jump on a call for the next 45 minutes if I wouldn't mind waiting. Unfortunately, I didn't have 45 minutes to sit there and wait. It was clear they still had no intention of being reasonable and helping me out, so I cancelled my membership that day.I finally had Amex investigate for fraud and they refunded the double charge. I am now getting collection calls and texts. I called the billing department and tried to resolve but they told me my membership was never cancelled. I was emailed a copy of my cancellation receipt on 7/23/24 (attached). The *** on the phone didn't have access to the system, apparently, and said my only recourse was to contact the club again. Not sure that will help after how I've been treated so far.

Below, I provide a detailed explanation of the situation, which also happened to three of my friends who referred me to the gym.On February 20, 2023, I joined Texas Family Fitness based on a referral from my friends, agreeing to a Personal Trainer fee of $280 per month each. I signed a contract based on this verbal agreement. However, over the subsequent months, I encountered several issues with billing and management changes at the gym.Initial Overcharges:For the first two months after joining, I was charged $792 per month instead of the agreed-upon $280. I had been to Texas family fitness on **** and 380 on 6/25 to cancel my sons membership and personal trainer sessions as we never received any service that was promised. The membership was created on 6/19 but none of the service that was promised was provided. We received an email with a document which shows that the membership is cancelled. I went back to the store to check on the personal trainer session cancelation for which the ** at the store (**************) confirmed that the membership supersedes everything and cancels even personal trainer charges.I also sent an email to as a proof of the conversation I had on 06/25 with ************** to ******************************************** and ****************************************** and sent a registered mail to the ** Box listed on the website to ensure there wouldnt be any additional charges on my card.On 7/12 my credit card was charged again for 296$ and when I went to the store another person who claimed to be a manager said that personal trainer cancelation is separate which means ************* was unethical and lied to me .I would like to see action taken against the store and ************** for cheating a customer. I would also want my money credited back.I have also attached a copy of the cancellation acknowledgement provided to me by ************* ensuring that both membership and personal training is canceled. Also attached the tracking details of the certified mail sent by **** to the address of their billing office .

I canceled my membership in person at the club on 6 different occasions. Was told that my membership had been canceled each time but they continued to pull membership fees from my checking account. I was then told to call customer service to canceled my membership. I called customer service and canceled my membership. They continued to pull fees from my checking account. I blocked their transactions through my bank. I received a email stating my membership was delinquent. I once again called customer service and was told to disregard the email. It was an error on their part. My membership had been canceled. I received a letter from a collections agency trying to collect delinquent membership fees. I contacted the collections agency who stated without a papertrail they can't confirm my cancellation. I again contact customer service who denies that I've ever contacted them regarding my cancelation or the delinquent account.

To whom it may concern, My husband and I enrolled in Texas Family Fitness on December 05th, 2022, and canceled our membership the following year on December 22nd, 2023, according to the attached documentation. However, after cancellation, our bank continued to get charged, and we called the club and left multiple voicemails to let them know about the situation. After trying to reach out to them multiple times, we did not get a call back from them. We put a stop to payment on our bank since we had a cancelation notice and never heard back from the club. My husband recently received a letter from a collections agency informing us we owed the club money. We mailed the agency our cancellation agreement, and we received a letter today that stated that we have breached our agreement, hence the reason for the payment. However, per the contract attached on file, we did not breach any of the agreements since we did cancel in person at the club, and we are not responsible for the lack of communication between the club and the company.

I have personally had multiple chats with Nolan, the club manager and requested that my personal trainer membership be put on hold as I have multiple unused credits from previous payments in the amount of #3,960.00 (see attached receipt). I kept getting charged on 3/20/24 and 4/20/24 in the amount of $1584 and I had to spend practically hours to get these charges reversed and that no future charges are billed. They kept promising that this has been taken care of only to find the following I was billed again. I was not charged in May (last month) and I was happy this was finally addressed only to find out that I was once again charged in June (see receipt attached). I have communicated via email to get the charges reversed to which there is no response. I called the club multiple times to speak with Nolan with no call back. I am very disappointed going through this process of getting the charges reversed each month. For the months of March and April, I had to finally file a dispute with Chase Credit Card to get the charges reversed. I will not advise anyone to sign up for this auto renewal option with this irresponsible club. I must get a refund issued immediately with a written guarantee that no future billing will occur without my authorization once my existing credits expire.

I get charged month after month for a personal trainer service that I am not signed up for. Charge is $196.00/month. I have been charged for every month this year, but only signed up for 1 month in January. Have been charged $196.00 for Feb, March, April, May w/o being signed up for the services. I had stopped my services in Jan which both the *************** and my trainer agree have been stopped, but cannot get them to stop charging my card or refund my money.
