      Jypsys is a clothing consignment business. I went in there today to pick up my clothing that did not sell. I dropped these items off on April 30, 2024 with a pick up date of July 29, 2024. When I went to the business the lady behind the counter told me that my items have become the property of Jypsys because I did not pick them up on the correct date. I told her that they were closed on 7/29 therefore I was unable to do so. She then proceeded to tell me that I shouldve checked my contract and picked them up the week before. This is what the contract states, Consignors who wish to pick up their unsold items are required to search and pull items from racks by the time of their expiration, no later than the pick up date printed above. All unsold items will become property of Jypsys Treasurers and are subject to donation. If consigners want unsold items back and are unable to search and pull items from racks, there will be a dollar charge, per item, for processing and must notify Jypsys Treasures one week before pick up date. As you can see no mention of if the store is closed Items must be picked up the week before. And thats what I discussed with ***** at which time I was told that I need to watch my rude demeanor which in my opinion was not confrontational. Jypsy treats her customers as second-rate **************** the reason I asked for my other consignments be returned to me & was told that I couldnt have them back & as you can see nothing is mentioned to that effect in the contract. I would like my consignments back because I do not want to have to deal with her any further. After I get them back, I will never consign there again or darken their doorway to purchase anything from her. I also used Jypsys a while back & stopped because I was not happy with them. I went back because shes the only consignment shop in CC but should have learned my ****** then but thought she had changed, obviously not. A leopard doesnt changed its spots.

      I am writing in response to the complaint filed by Ms. ********************* regarding her unsold items at Jypsy's Treasures & Consignments. We appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns and provide clarification.

       

      ************** consigned her items with our store, as outlined in the signed contract from 12/17/1996, which allows for a consignment period of 90 days. Unfortunately, some of her items remained unsold beyond the expiration date. As per our policy, items not retrieved by the end of the consignment period becomes the property of Jypsys Treasures & Consignments.

       

      We understand that ************** may be disappointed, but we must adhere to the terms agreed upon in the contract. Our staff informed her of this policy when she visited after the expiration date.  We apologize if there was any misunderstanding, and we strive to communicate our policies clearly to all customers.  The fact that Jypsy's ********************** and ****************** has remained in business for almost 35 years should re-enforce the fact that we work hard at being fair and courteous to our customers.
