  My wife and I were trying to get a land/home package thru Today Homes in ********* *****. Our credit scores were a little low and Today Homes referred us to AFS ******************* a credit repair consultant that has an office in ********, **. In May 2022 we got in contacted by ** who would be our consultant. He said he needed $750.00 mailed to him before he could help us. We mailed him a check and he assured us, with his help, he would guarantee that our credit would improve to where we could get financed in 6 months. We were also told that that money would also go towards our **** payment to Today Homes. We texted and talked several times and a few months later he said we were ready to get financed and to send him $1500 for the appraisal, which we did. In August ** became unreachable and we found out that we still were not able to get financed. It broke both my wife and my heart because we thought our dream of owning a home together was finally coming true. Since then I have been unable to contact ** and the business was closed or was non-existent. I sent a certified letter to the address in ********, which was signed for on Nov 6th, demanding our money back for services not provided. I never received a response. Ive contacted Today Homes also since they were the ones who arranged for AFS to contact us and they claim no responsibility. I am not sure what to do next.

  Today Homes received $1,500.00 in deposits from *******************. We sent that money to AFS ********* Services after it had been communicated to us that the Thorps credit was at the point where we could move forward with financing. We were told that the Thorps credit score had increased and we were working with AmCap Home Loans on their financing. We were ultimately unable to obtain financing for the Thorps due to an outstanding balance owed to the ****************************** on *********************** credit report. We explained to the Thorps that neither Today Homes nor the lender could request that account be removed from their credit report. ******************* would have to contact the ****************************** directly and work with them to update or remove the account from his credit report. Today Homes contacted AFS ********* Services via email and requested that the $1,500.00 be refunded. AFS ********* Services mailed money orders from Chase to Today Homes and we gave those money orders to *******************. Copies of the receipts documenting his deposits with Today Homes and the Chase money orders are attached for reference.

  I am rejecting this response because:I paid $2250 total to Today Homes(see attachments). We received a refund of $1000.00. That leaves a balance of $1250.00 that needs to be refunded to me for services not provided as promised.

  ******************* gave $1,500.00 in deposits to Today Homes. We sent the $1,500.00 to AFS ********* Services on *********************** behalf with company check # ***** and that money has been refunded. Copies of the money orders made payable to ******************* from AFS ********* Services are attached. The ****** came to our office and we gave them the money orders after we received them from AFS ********* Services.

  Today Homes has no control over the $750.00 that was sent directly to AFS ********* Services from *******************. The customer was in direct contact with AFS ********* Services regarding that transaction.

  I am rejecting this response because: I have copies of the receipts given to ** by Today Homes for all the monies we have given them. All the money whether it was for land, credit counseling, deposits, were all paid thru Today Homes, with exception of the initial $750 that was paid directly to AFS. AFS is not contacting me back and I can not locate another means of contact, address, or anything else that shows that that company even exists. I do hold Today Homes responsible because they referred us, set everything up, and told us to send them money. I have receipts for $2250.00 paid to Today Homes, and only received $1000.00 in refunds, which leaves a balance of $1250.00.  I sent attachments of all the receipts in my last correspondence
