    I am writing this letter regarding a service I received from Mr. ******************** owner and operator of Straight ***************** ******************************************************************** I purchased a 2014 **** Edge on August 27, 2021, from this company. I paid $1200 down and got a loan for the remaining balance. Two weeks after making the purchase, a friend noticed white smoke exiting the tailpipes of the vehicle. I contacted Mr. ******************* regarding this matter. He informed me it was caused by condensation and to continue to drive it. He said he would eventually go away. It did not go away unfortunately. I have had the vehicle for approximately 11 months and have not driven over ***** miles. I use the vehicle to commute to work, grocery store and appointments. I have yet to drive the vehicle outside of *********, **. On June 16, 2022, I contacted my daughter, **************************** for assistance to get my vehicle towed to a shop. ********** *************** arrived at my employer, *********************** ******************************************************************** They towed the vehicle to their shop located at ***************************************************** and a mechanic assessed it. On June 17, ****, the **** Edge was retrieved from **********. The mechanic said the catalytic converter was not compatible with the vehicle and caused heads to crack. The catalytic converter had been installed by a mechanic at ****************, ****************************************************** prior to me purchasing the vehicle. ************************ Loan Officer at ************************************ *********************************************************************** contacted Mr. ******************* to request help with the repairs. Mr. ******************* replied No. I will not. I cannot help you. I feel like this vehicle is a lemon and Mr. ******************* knew it prior to selling it to me. After three days, Mr. ******************* agreed to pay $1200 toward repairs only if he could choose the place for the repairs. The place he chose was the same place that originally installed the incorrect catalytic converter. I was skeptical but agreed because it is my only means of transportation and desperately needed the vehicle repaired. On July 5, 2022, my daughter, **************************** contacted Roadside Assistance on my behalf and had the vehicle towed from my residence, ************************************************************ to Dont ************ On July 8, 2022, I contacted **************** and they informed me of waiting on parts (catalytic converter) only. There was no mention of head gaskets until July 12, 2022, when they said they had ordered them. On July, 15, 2022, my daughter checked on my vehicle and they informed her of still waiting on the ordered parts. A price list dated July 13 was provided to my daughter. She was also told a cylinder head was ordered and was expected to arrive soon. I thought the vehicle would be repaired by July 18 but no such luck. My daughter was informed the repairs would cost $4500. She requested the $1200 Mr. ******************* said he would pay be deducted. The mechanic replied that the entire $4500 bill would be my responsibility. The mechanic also said he did not want anything to do with the repairs of the vehicle and he did not know what Mr. ******************* was doing. The mechanic continued telling my daughter that he had his own problems and to retrieve the vehicle because it cannot be repaired. I am very upset. I have been without a vehicle for a month without any assistance from Mr. ******************** I am still making timely payments on a vehicle that is not working properly. Mr. ******************* was untruthful about the vehicle on the day I purchased it. He said the vehicle had no issues. Currently I am paying family and friends to transport me to work and other places. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
