I looked on ****** website for in network providers, the address to this hospital shows up so I go. I go to the Lab that I used to always use that was In Network. Apparently that Lab changed and is now a "Out Patient" Lab and the Lab I was supposed to go to was still on the premises but through the doors of the next building over. You can see how a mistake can be made due to ****** showing this hospital address and I always use to go to that Lab for bloodwork. As soon as the person registering me at the desk saw my Insurance ******, she should have directed me to the proper In Network lab that changed the location to around the corner in the same hospital. But, she didn't redirect me. She knows there are two labs on premises so she has a duty to tell the patient which lab is correct. I did not find out about all of this until I see they charged my insurance $10,966.49 and me $600.44 for routine bloodwork along with another Laboratory charge from a different place for $552.00 Insurance and $49.50 out of pocket for myself. That is a total of $11,518.49 that was billed out for routine bloodwork that usually cost me $100. I told my doctor about this and she told me that bloodwork costs $200 without insurance as that is how much she charges for it. The hospital greatly misleads people by having two labs and should do the right thing by redirecting people to the right lab since they are both on the premises. One lab in network and one lab out of network. I feel greatly taken advantage of and greatly cheated after finding just how much that lab work should cost without insurance. It's basically fraud and theft.
