On 12/10/2023, Second and Surplus came to install my door. When the installer started to install the door, I noticed the door was severely damaged. I called the installer manager, ***, and she told me they wouldn't know if the door was damaged until they opened it to install it. Then they took the entire day to go back to the store to pick up a new door. Then once again, as they were installing the door, I noticed it was 4 inches smaller on each side of the original opening. They started to add wood, foam, and filler to make it fit and close up the 4-inch gap on each side. I told them this was not the size I ordered. They measured it but sent what they had in stock and wanted to force the fit. So I called again and spoke with the manager about the wrong door size, and she said it was not their fault because the original door opening was odd. But why didn't anyone say this in the beginning? They wanted to give me whatever they had in stock, not what I paid for. The company came out and measured to ensure I got the size I paid for, but that's not what they delivered. So I called the manager, and he apparently spoke with the ** and was on hold for more than an hour with a reply that they didn't have a door to fit this opening. They wanted to up-sale me to a custom door and pay double, and I would also have to pay for installation again since they are making it seem like this is my fault. As you can see from the picture, this door is extremely smaller than the opening. Since the home was built, they are the original doors, so I don't see why they are claiming this is such an odd size. Now they are refusing to do anything for me. No compensation and no help getting the door I paid for. I am not sure what I can do now. I am out the cost of the door, $900, and $1100 for installation. If I wanted to order a new door (What they suggested), I would still have to pay $1100 for a new door and another $1100 for installation again. So for one door, I would have to pay them $4200Business response
