      Concerning : CR Construction

Have not been able to pull up the specific complaint or speak to anyone. Said there wasn't enough # available.  Not sure of exact process, but here is what happened.

This job started out a bathroom update. Paint, panel, new floors. Under 2 week job. The client loved the work, my men were polite. She had not had anything done to the house in many years. She started adding some other things to be ***** painting this room than another, than updating cabinets, getting new windows(22), with all trim redone, replacing any rotting, new porch. Every few days , really, something was changed or updated. She loved the work, telling her co workers, bring them over to see it.. The image was she was a widow and she was going to take care of this with an insurance check at some point. She did pay a little here and there, ****, ****. I was a 2 week job, that ended up being 4 months -nov I started it.

She works for the ******************. Someone question if she had a permit and threatenws her that she would lose her job. Her attitude started changing. I did the paperwork to get bonded for that area. Got the permit. No problem. Usually this essential type maintenence or repair type work didn't need a permit. THe city also requested she hir a engineer to look under the house. Was a bad report. I did not fix a foundation,  I was not hired to do that. I did correct a couple of spots under the bathroom to do a good job. Since that report is when she stopped communicating with me.

She had wanted new insulation and siding put on. I was about to start that when she just said leave. Than I got a call asking for receipts for the siding and other things. She didn't pay me for it. She didnt pay me for several weeks of work. Her insurance company may be asking for it.

She wanted me to do some roofing since she said the insurance was going to cover it. In asking me about it; she told me to take a hammer to hit it to make her claim better. I refused.

I sent an itemized bill to her. With what she paid, what she owed. No response, except give me the receipts. She owes me about 16k in materials. The last time I was there she was rude, and had her daughter also there being rude. I didnt respond to it

I am rejecting this response because nothing **************** stated is true.  I was embarrassed when I went on my own to the ******************** to find out what permits ****** had pulled for the work on my property at ******** C and was told that NO PERMITS had been issued for my roof, my windows, my foundation, or the added on front porch. I was furious that ****** had FAILED to permit any of his work, which as a City employee was quite embarrassing to me!  Of course, NOW I now know why he failed to file the permits!  It is because de does not have the skill set needed to do any of the work properly.   At the City's request I paid for an Engineer's Structural Report.  ALL of the work ****** did on my home FAILED inspection! The roof on the front porch he installed FAILED and his inept work has resulted in water leaking into my living room.  He failed to use the correct material, failed to use the correct pitch on the roof, and failed to properly install the wooden posts on the porch resulting in the City advising that the porch will not pass inspection and will need to be torn down and rebuilt! ****** further damaged my roof by ripping or knocking off two satellite dishes instead of simply removing them and by an inordinate amount of foot traffic near the front porch area that will have to be patched. Not a single job was completed by *************  ****** painted over and around all light switch covers and outlet covers, painted over hinges, even though new hinges were purchased by me and provided to him, and he failed to cut in around any of the light fixtures on the ceiling or any of the air ducts and vents. ****** painted the top third of one wall in the back bedroom and that was it! ****** failed to paint three closets, and he failed to paint five doors, and he failed to paint trim.  ****** got paint on all of my hardwood floors, and on my TV in the living room. ****** ruined the blades of my ceiling fan in the front bedroom by spraying them with texture.  ****** also failed to remove the k**** on one cabinet and failed to apply two coats of paint to several surfaces, including a shelf, a cabinet, and most of the ceilings, resulting in very apparent streaking.  ******** work on my foundation caused the Structural Engineer to state "I am as appalled by what this guy did not do as I am by what he did do!"  The Engineer advised that none of the work ****** had done on my foundation passed inspection, that he left a main beam with a major crack unrepaired, that he left a mountain of debris, and that he had incorrectly placed wood in the wrong direction, had used wood from the ground up creating a termite feeding station, and had generally left nothing but a mess that would have to be redone by a certified foundation company.  I have had three bids from REPUTABLE foundation repair companies and they placed bids to repair my foundation at ranging between ******* (not including French drains) and ********* dollars (including French drains)!   ****** talked "God" to me every day, saying that he had been blessed and he just wanted to bless me.  He talked up how much money he could save me and he suggested jobs for him to do.  The ONLY jobs I asked ****** to do was to paint and install windows. I should have seen the RED FLAGS, but I did not.  ****** insisted that he had to remove my siding in order to repair my foundation, which I learned from the Structural Engineer is an absolute lie. ****** insisted that bringing in crushed concrete would resolve the problem of water getting under my house, but that was also a lie.  ****** is nothing but a liar and a thief. An old fashioned Flim Flam man!  I thought I was smart enough not to get taken by a con artist, but I was wrong!  I have bank documents and clear notes showing that I paid ****** between ********* and ********* for his work, time, and materials.  I also have proof in the way of the Engineer's Report and photographs of the sloppy work.  I was advised by the Assistant Chief of Police that because ****** FAILED to give me a contract that I can not file FRAUD charges, but that I can ******************* in Civil Court, which I may do.  ****** owes me THOUSANDS of dollars!  ****** has also REFUSED to give me the receipts for the windows I paid from ********** so that I can WARRANTY the windows.  I paid ****** several installments upon HIS REQUEST. ** amounts ranging from $300 to $15.000 for a total amount of between $33,000.00 to $*********!  I paid ****** in cash as well as by check, making notes about the cash payments, as well as what each check made out to ****** was for.  ** addition to his shoddy work and his outright lies, I suspect ****** and/or some of the unskilled laborers he picked up at ********** stole most of my husband's DeWalt tools are missing from my garage, an electric sump pump I paid for is missing, my ladder is missing, my husband's saw horses are missing, I had cash come up missing from my billfold, and a bag of rolled coins that have disappeared from where I had hidden them in a closet.  I will produce all of my documentation, photographs, and sworn affidavits from legitimate , licensed repair men and/or contractors in court.
