A CUTX Regional Manager spoke with ************ and refunded her $7 debit card fee. ************ shared that she has consistently had positive experiences with CUTX, especially with her auto loan and leasing needs, noting that the leasing process was smooth and her vehicle was found within three days. She also mentioned the frustration she felt when the debit card machine at the Desoto branch was down, requiring her to go to the Hampton branch to pick up her card. The Regional Manager apologized for the inconvenience and expressed gratitude for her understanding and continued membership. He thanked her for her loyalty and trust in CUTX, and provided his contact information for any future assistance she might need.Review from Heather H

Terrible customer service. I have been helping my mom to transfer her money out and close her account and despite multiple requests to close the account, it has remained open and they continue to charge overdraft fees. And then an $18 fee to pay over the phone to bring account to $0 balance!Processes for doing business are severely antiquated and I've been way happier at Chase. Website is also totally worthless.Credit Union of Texas Response

************************* reached out on 6/11 to provide an update that, Ms. ********** request for account closure had been received and processed and address any concerns regarding lack of service. The membership is no longer open at this time. Management left a voicemail detailing the update and requested that if further service is needed to please give CUTX a call back.Review from Charles B

I have had an account with them 2 years trying to build a bank relationship. Over the time I have had many CD loans more then an *****. I also have had other programs that they offer to build relationships and was successful with all of them but no matter what the level of respect and understanding and customer service was not give at any point of time of me having my account. I had my account a year before I was able to deposit cash in atm the features most consumers use banks accounts for I wasnt able to use for reasons they couldnt explain or care to and that goes for any of my concerns or problems I have had over the time of having my account. It like my business was worthless to credit union of Texas. My time and effort Trying to build a business relationship with them was pointless and hate that I gave them a chance.Credit Union of Texas Response

Worst Credit Union Ever!!! I had 1 returned payment due to fraud that they were aware of. They froze my account 100% and will not allow me to make online payments going forward. The "manager" told me I would have to physically visit the branch, which I am in a completely different state so that's impossible or I would have to mail a check every month until my loan was paid off. I have never been late on a payment in the year and a half using them. Stay very far away from CUTX and their horrible customer service... Way to conduct business..Credit Union of Texas Response

We were able to connect with the member today. She was pleased with the response and help. Our card services managers offered to have her call him if she had any further concerns or questions. We reinstated her PNM and she will be making her payment today. She explained that the return happened due to fraud, and she had forgotten to change the info. She also accepted the return fee as she understood it was on her end. She did speak about her frustration and unwillingness to fly to Texas for this and was grateful that we recognized that she has always been on auto pay and only had this issue the one time. We value your membership and hope for the opportunity to regain your trust.Review from robert p

We are sorry for the inconvenience and frustration caused by the recent issue with your account. Our VP of ******* Services was able to make contact with the member. She explained the transaction was only a preapproval on the debit/credit card and after we cancelled the app (per his request) the system did not proceed with debiting his account We understand your concern and were happy we were able to find an acceptable solution.Review from Sean M

62 complaints I less than 3 months on here. Wow they really do not have anyone checking there complaints. I have had several issues with this location. The Loan members set my account up to where I am losing money when I overpay a payment. I have gone in and asked for management to call me several times. The last time I was in there I was talking to a lade whom called the escalations department and that management lady told her I would receive a call about my complaints in the hour. I was then told the loan manager was at lunch and he would call me to help me fix this once he got back. I have waited 30 days to prove a point. This company does not care about the little people of this bank. I have had 3 loans all mess up by this bank. You may ask why would I use them again. It was simply because they took care of me befor, they made me feel like there care. This time it has completely changed. I have proof that I have tried contacting someone of higher authority and have not been able to so now I am at the point of legal action. Thats how bad this bank has treated me. Someone who always makes a higher payment than needed and someone who always pays on time. You cost your bank the home loan that I was pre approved for through your company. The lack of caring costed one of your employees to waste several hours of his time working on a home approval. Back to chase I go. Just know sometimes a .5 interest rate increase is not always worth your time. Credit Union of Texas. You have done a good job at being a terrible company. ThanksReview from Rebecca C

CUTX unilaterally and without warning took thousands of dollars of mine to satisfy my husband's separate credit card debt. This happened AFTER **** had assured me that it understood that the money in the joint account was my SEPARATE property (as it had been raised in a GoFundMe after my husband's death) and that the debt was his separately. It's hard to describe the inappropriateness of this violation, but let me be clear: based on my experience, MONEY IS NOT SAFE WITH CUTX. To summarize, CUTX UNILATERALLY AND WITHOUT WARNING TOOK ALMOST 20% OF THE ONLY CASH BELONING EXCLUSIVELY TO A WIDOW AND SINGLE MOTHER. Legal actions are being prepared.Credit Union of Texas Response

We had a second mortgage with Credit Union of Texas for 15 years. We never missed a payment or was late. I was not notified that my final balloon payment was due until the note was almost a month PAST DUE! Their collection department suddenly wanted the balloon payment plus late fees. I called their loan servicing department several times and could not talk to any managers. They would not return my calls. Finally, a customer service representative was able to get the "late fees" excused when I paid the balloon payment. I have an email showing they did not notify me until the final payment was already past due. I think their loan servicing department was behind on notifications and would not admit it. I was very disappointed in their service, especially after being an ideal borrower for 15 years. This happened March *****, 2023.Credit Union of Texas Response

This bank doesn't allow you to know your current loan balance when you pay in their online system, you can't get payoff amount unless you call the bank. This makes something suspicious. A garbage of lot of paper they mail you each month.
