- dentist refused to treat me because I would not get additional x-rays that were not needed (just wanted cleaning) - during first visit...dentist charged me for additional x-rays I did not need (not covered by insurance) - I specifically consented to the x-rays because the dentist said they would be covered - insurance was contacted and they said I should not have been charged... - the office manager said she would remove the charge for the x-rays...but never did - dentist continued to send me statements with bill - I paid the bill on march 5, 2022 - dentist sent me a final notice letter they would send me to collections (post-marked on 3//15/2022) - I contacted great expressions and they informed me they would require me to show proof of payment...however it showed up on paid on my account portal... - I was informed the dentist had failed to mark my account as paid at the practice...their policy is they update the account after 7 business days (they are not following policy) - patient services rep told me not to worry about collections as long as I had paid during a call on 3/31/2022...and that it was not showing up on the patient services (corporate end)... - lastly...the final notice before collections was sent on 3/20/2022...the latest statement I recieved (again after I already paid) noted it was due on 3/31/2022 Summary: Great Expressions is sending notices to people who have already paid based on lack of communication and bad business practices (this is a corporate procedural error and issue). The specific practice/provider refused to treat me because I did not want an additional, unnecessary service during my visit.
