We had a kitchen leak with damage to our cabinets and floors. We called ServPro because of recommendation from a contractor friend. He told us they have fee estimates. The secretary told us sometimes the fee is waived but if not, it would be $150 for someone to come to our house for the estimate. ******, from ServPro came to the house. After receiving the estimate to fix the damage, we contacted our insurance company. The adjuster came and claim was done the next day. We called ServPro numerous times over the next month to try to speak with ****************, the owner. We waited patiently for a timeline for the start and completion of the work, cabinet options, and infor regarding the quality of the products from ServPro. This never happened. We lost patience and started to research other companies. Only when ****** believed we would take our business elsewhere that a call was scheduled. It did not yield results. We believed that this call was to discuss the work to be done, prices, materials, and timelines which did not occur. We decided to proceed with others who provided us with detailed info and timeline.Upon learning that we would not be using ServPro, ****** sent us an invoice for a bill totaling $1873.24. Except for speaking with the secretary no one at any time discussed any fees with us. We immediately paid ServPro $300.00 for the two visits ****** made to our home for the initial estimate and meeting with the insurance adjuster. No one from ServPro at any other time came to our house. On July 7, 2023, we received an email from *********** dba ServPro Northeast Dallas, Lake Highlands and South Garland for $1675.38. They deducted the $300 we paid them but charged us $94.26 late fees ($23.59 per month). If we were told that the charge would be over $1800 for an estimate, we would have never proceeded with ServPro in the first place. This bill is outrageous and is out of spite. We have in good faith paid for the agree upon services rendered.
