I signed up for a monthly membership sometime in 2023, in February 2024 Cyclebar began billing me twice monthly for this membership - I realized this error in May of 2024. I've gone to the studio in person, sent weekly emails, and called to cancel these memberships and have not received any response from the studio. This week I began receiving additional fees such as "no show" fees which are typically incurred when you reserve a class and do not attend. Since I have been trying to cancel my membership since May I have not reserved any classes, therefore I cannot be accumulating 'no show' fees. This appears to be the only response to my repeated attempts to cancel. It is retaliatory. I am not bound by any contract to this studio and this membership is on a month to month basis. I've involved my bank in this ongoing issue. I've never had an experience like this with a business before and I wish they didn't have access to my debit card as I am unable to stop the membership charges and retaliatory charges I'm accumulating from Cyclebar Uptown ******.Customer response

I received a call this morning from ************ claiming to be a collection agency attempting to collect over $500 from me on behalf of Cyclebar. This claim was submitted to them this morning. I have not received any correspondence at any point from Cyclebar regarding a balance or overdue charges. I have asked them to remove the erroneous membership charges and cancel my membership repeatedly. I have yet to receive confirmation that my membership has been cancelled. Again this is a monthly membership that can be cancelled anytime. I called the studio to send me my account charges to verify that I have no charges They said I have a late fee as of last month but I have a receipt showing that that was paid automatically. I will be disputing this charge and the 'no show' charges I am being arbitrarily billed. I have not received any emails or letters regarding an ongoing balance with this company. This again appears retaliatory.Initial Complaint

This business is trying to charge me for unused and unauthorized services. I have already paid for my commitment and am being charged additional membership fees. My membership has been canceled since March. This business is predatory in practice. They do not allow cancelation online or over the phone. An email must be sent to the GM to cancel and takes multiple weeks to receive a reply. Even after canceling via email and speaking with the general manager, I am still being charged membership fees.
