My daughter received services by this medical provider around est. April 2024. We never received a bill from Imaging Associates of New Mexico, but received a bill from a debt collection agency. The bill reflected the total amount without any insurance deduction. I check on my insurance claims and found that they never even submitted the claims to our insurance. This is highly irresponsible, neglectful, and fraudulent business and billing practices that can leave detrimental affects to a person's credit and financial stability. This business needs to retract this account from the collection agency and submit the claim to our insurance and we will pay the balance after the bill has been adjusted after insurance processing. This is disgusting and vile coming from a medical establishment.

A bill was received in early May 2024 for services rendered (radiologist reading) on 2/3/24. The amount of the bill was $854 so on May 13, 2024 I called to set up a payment plan. The following week, I recieved a bill for the technical portion/ facility, which I expected 2 different bills as I work in the medical field and know how it works. That bill was half the amount that the bill for the reading was. On June 4, 2024, I called Imaging Associates of New Mexico to see if someone could explain to me how a reading for an exam can cost almost double what the exam itself costs. I found out during that phone call that although I didn't have insurance, I wasn't billed the self pay amount, which was 50% of what they billed me. The first time I called to set up the payment plan, the representative never mentioned a self pay amount/ discount. On this second call, I was told that since I've already set up a payment plan, they can't cancel it and give me the self pay rate. They could cancel the payment plan and I would be stuck paying the full amount or stick with the payment plan which would still be the same full amount. Deceptive business practices is what that is. First of all, I should've been billed the correct amount to begin with (self pay/ no insurance), when I wasn't and called to arrange a payment plan, I should've been told about and had the option to make the self pay payment at that time. None of that happened and now I'm being expected to be responsible for it.

This company works with *********************** and **********************. They bill ************* to the hospitals but the do not use the insurance information that we provided to the hospitals. So they send you bills in the thousands without billing insurance. Even after providing the insurance information multiple times they cant get it right and still send bills. Patients going to these hospitals are unaware that the insurance info they provided is going to be ignored and hit with bills in the thousands. The hospitals bare blame for not informing patients of this separation of billing and the utter incompetence of this company.
