We contracted The Inspection House for the purpose of a home purchase inspection. The cost was $495 and it was paid for on 7/10/2023. The home inspection was conducted on a property at ******************************************************, on 7/12, by inspector *************************************. We were scheduled to meet him at the property at 12:30 that day, but we were contacted by their office telling us it would need to be 1:30 with no explanation why. At some point during the inspection, ********* opened the dishwasher mid-cycle (his explanation), while full of water/spraying water. The water spilled onto the floor, flooding the kitchen, entryway, dining room and pantry, and leaked through the wall behind the refrigerator into the garage. He did not notify the listing agents, sellers or us. He went through the sellers dirty laundry to find towels to clean his mess. Highly unprofessional and derelict. His story changed repeatedly and was not truthful. At no point did he notify the Sellers or their agent; all of this was discovered as the Seller chose to go back to the home and found ********* cleaning up the water. ******* completed cleaning up his mess, including running fans to help dry the floor and carpet, and didn't initially see any damage. However, overnight several of the baseboards blistered from the water. We called their office and demanded resolution prior to our option period expiring on Friday July 14 at 5pm, and they would not return my call and still havent. We had to inherit the damages as our option period came and went. We are now scheduled to close on the home July 28. We simply want a refund due to the damages, which to replace the damaged baseboards alone will cost at least the price of the inspection. The lack of professionalism by this company is astonishingBusiness response

Please close this complaint, I spoke With the client months ago and resolved this, he advised that he was going to remove this complaint as well. We did not damage the dishwasher in anyway, the dishwasher was already broken and leaked during the course of testing during the inspection. The inspector actually made efforts to clean up things and mitigate the situation as much as possible. We are not responsible for any current damage as we can only document damage. Close this complaint, thank you.Business response

The kitchen sink has fallen in. I hired The Inspection House to inspect the home before purchase in Dec 2019. The licensed inspector missed that the granite hole size was incorrectly, and the under mount sink was mounted with glue and cardboard instead of sink clips and brackets. Because this was not found in the inspection, I was robbed of the opportunity to get it fixed by the owner prior to purchasing. I had no idea. The licensed inspector should have caught this. The sink was attached by glue and cardboard. Because it is passed the 90 days of the inspection, they are not willing to do anything about it. Had it been caught in the inspection, I could have had it fixed in 90 days. My sink is now sitting in the bottom of my cabinet. The Inspection House did not do their job. This is not fair to me.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/22) */ The client contacted me 2 years after the home was inspected by us. Per our signed agreement, we provide a warranty for 90 days, not 2 years. I did explain to the client that we have no way to provide a warranty years after the home has been lived in. Please close this complaint as the homeowner has sole responsibility.
