I hired this contractor to complete a deck demolition and expansion with installation of stairs. The contractor required $3500 for purchase of supplies. The contractor then suggested installing a drainage system for an additional $700. We had to delay the project for 3 months related to an HOA issue. When the deck was installed there was not a drainage system installed, he refused to refund my money for this failure. Then when I asked about the stairs he said he forgot, purchased some supplies at Home Depot for $58 dollars and placed three unusable steps on the deck. The invoice said $850 for the stairs without labor. This was just supplies the labor charge was to happen when the project finished. He charged nearly $800 for supplies he did not purchase. After stating he was storing the building supplies and requested I pay for their storage. During which time I offered to store them at my other home. He declined. The contractor lied about the cost of stairs which have to be redone and also about purchasing and installing the drainage system. He also charged my credit card without my authorization. I specifically told him that I would need to discuss the matter further and he submitted the charge anyway. I have had to file a fraud report with my credit card company because I did not authorize the credit card payment.
