    In April 2020, Getaroom.com cooperated with BBB's 2019 request that the business adequately address a concerning pattern of BBB consumer complaints. At the time, the company communicated actions that it would take, or had already taken, to prevent similar complaints in the future. In response, BBB agreed to monitor the company's BBB complaints for up to a year. The monitoring and review were completed April 26, 2021.


    Among BBB's complaint review was a concerning pattern of complaints alleging Getaroom.com uses deceptive online advertising practices, as well as telephone customer service interactions, that lead consumers to believe they are interacting directly with a particular hotel's staff when they are trying to reserve a room. Consumers often claim they were unaware that they were interacting with a third-party until after they have been charged by Getaroom.com.


    After conducting a review of GetARoom.com's most recent BBB complaints, BBB determined the allegations, and overall concerning pattern of complaints, persist.

      I made a reservation with what I thought was Hilton Hotels for 6/8/24. Due to severe illness, I needed to modify this reservation. Only upon reaching out to the hotel directly did I learn that I had actually booked through a third party that was representing itself as the actual hotel: getaroom.com, which is a Priceline Partner. The confirmation email came from guest reservations not get a room which was also misleading. Being under the impression that I had booked through Hilton, I believed I was under their modification/cancellation policy, which would have allowed me to modify my reservation to arrive a week later after my illness has passed. I called the number given in my confirmation email, still thinking I was communicating with ******, and at no point did anyone I spoke to indicate that I wasnt, or identify themselves as get a room or Priceline. I was shocked when I was told that the only option would be to cancel my reservation without a refund. I feel that these practices were completely deceptive. I would never have made the reservation if I knew I was working with a third party. I would like a refund.

      I made a mistake with the date of my booking and called within an hour to change the date. The hotel was fine with the change but needed to hear from this third party. They refused to contact the hotel and would not help at all. Plus they kept me on hold for over 20 minutes in 2 occasions and then hung up
