Academy credit card is a way to fraudulently bill the card holder.This credit card is a way to defraud the carrier. I opened an account and got the card. Never used it so I called to close the account. ********************** notified me that I had a balance of $68, all from interest. So I didn't argue and zeroed out my account. I had the person on the phone confirm numerous times my account was closed and no further action was needed. This happened in June 2021. I just received a bill for $288 even though the bill states this is a closed account. I called up and the supervisor said that my closed account was charged $2 interest fee on July 2022 (one month after it was closed). I was never notified and it accumulated late fees and more interest. The supervisor refused to zero out the account and threatened to send it to collections. I have never used this card and if I pay this last balance, I will have paid $350+. This is fraud through and through and I'm not sure what to do. I'm speaking with my lawyer but not too hopeful going up against a massive company like this.
