I rented a trumpet from Brook Mays 2020 and returned August 2021. At the time of return there was a balance of 200.00. I advised the manager at the store the balance will be paid next week. He said okay thanks. Never once did he say by next week the account would be turned over to the unprofessional Professional Receivable Solutions Collections Agency. I called Brooks Mays to make the payment and at that time the payment wasn't accepted and I was referred to collections. I called PRS and the representative stated something is wrong with his system and he would call me back. Never did I receive a call back until a month and a few days later. There were extra charges tacked on. The representative was trying to force me into setting up an arrangement that day of which I declined. He start sending messages with my social and being disrespectful in text messages if I don't answer the phone. I want to pay the balance of 200.00 but not to PRS because I don't trust them with any information.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/22) */ This customer's account was turned over to PRS for non-payment after we had exhausted all avenues to bring her account current. She was called at least twice and sent 2 past-due/collections notices. The customer returned her instrument to the store in early August, but was still carrying an unpaid balance of over $200. The customer did contact us on Sept 3 to try to bring the account current after she was contacted by PRS. She was told that we no longer service the rental contract and she would have to resolve the outstanding balance with them. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/10/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I called Brook Mays to make a payment a week after the instrument was returned. I wasn't contact by PRS at all and didn't know the account was in collections at all until I called. After Brook Mays stated the account was turned over to PRS, I contacted them at that time to make a payment. PRS stated they were having issues and would give me a call back of which was months later. I never received any collection notice from Brook Mays at all. After PRS finally contacted me back they said I had a few days left to bring the account current before they filed charges on me for theft of which I never stole the instrument. The collection company that's been assigned to my case is very disrespectful and untrustworthy with my banking information to make a payment.
